Mexico and Central America now want more money to stop the flow. I will offer this—it’s a pretty objective view of what is involved. But keep in mind Obama deported more than Trump to try and get GOP support for fixing immigration, and all he got in return was endless demonization and Trump; and Dems actually lost Hispanic support as a result of efforts to compromise. Biden knows very well offering the GOP compromises will simply cause them to increase the attacks and that they have no intention of compromise with their favorite weapon of attack. The few GOP willing to compromise before won’t now because it’s a toxic issue. I have given reason after reason why this Democrat policy is BAD for America and America citizens. You have given NO explanations of benefits to Americans. The Trump policy was working and border immigration was under control. There were no more surges. The Biden administration is or has: Restarted the catch and release program. End the stay in Mexico program for asylum seekers. Invited people to come to America. Stopped wall construction. Supported sanctuary cities and states. Offered to pay for free health care for illegal aliens, Offered Covid-19 money to illegals. Offered to keep unaccompanied minors in the country and not send them back to their families. Said he will stop deportations. Said he will create a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens. Said we should make it a non-crime to enter the country illegally. These policies: Will increase the low pay supply of workers which will eliminate jobs for American workers. It will reduce the pay rate for low income workers. Allow covid positive people to spread throughout the country. Allow gangs to regroup and congregate in our cities. Allow increased rape, assault, theft, arson, and other violence. Allow increased human trafficking... when these you people do get into the country, they are indebted to the cartels and subject to their demands. When told to do something, they must do it or their family members (here or at home) will be killed. Allow increased drug trafficking... which are killing many thousands of Americans each year. And, they cost huge amounts of money to house, clothe, and feed detainees plus relocate them. So, HOW does this help America? What are the offsetting benefits? |

Softaire Even before this club was established to attempt better dialogue across divisions it was known from extensive earlier research it probably would not work only increase divisions. But it was worth a shot. So thanks all for confirming the research. The country hasn’t been this divided since the last civil war, and demographics plus information overload and echo chambers indicates it will get more so. That is reality. The only thing Biden changed from Trump so far was changing Trump’s emergency use Title 42 from an obscure 1944 health law using COVID as a pretext to block all immigrants, which simply created refugee camps on the Mexican border, by following normal practice not to deport unaccompanied children without review first due to the risks they face on the Mexican side.
