I've had many "antique" pencil sharpeners and I don't care how old they are.
I only know that they always work and do their intended job FAR better than ANY modern pencil sharpener that I have EVER used.

One only needs to buy one antique pencil sharpener because it will probably last you for ever --- and emptying the large capacity shavings holder is easier than a modern pencil sharpener.
Indeed: A knife works better than most modern pencil sharpeners.
