Where in the world is IHS now ?
We would like to see your excellent posts again. I believe your club is unfairly closed. I would like to hear your messages ASAP.

Due to the heavy campaigning from the left here at GK, he has been blocked from posting and sending or recieving PMs. They lurked and stalked his club for months looking for any ammo to use against him. That's how they roll. They want to shut up or shut down any and all who disagree with them.

The Club is open so feel free to make posts. I am still here to moderate any complaints that members make that do not follow GK rules.

May I complain about Thumpers, stupid, bias, ignorant, full of lies and exaggerations above comment sir?

I challenge him top find a single truth to that.

It's alt-right creeps like thumjper who stalk and HEAVILY spout their lies; not the left.

There are in fact TWO clubs in gameknot that are dedicated to alt-right division of America's people. commentary --- this club and thumper's Neutral Club.

Spouts about "Election fraud (the big lie), Patriotic 1/6 insurrectionists, Fearful "leftes who get the vaccine and wear masks, arguments that N-95 masks are a placebo, anointments of donald trump and many others are all lies and works toward further division of the people that are pernitrated in these ugly clubs.

Take thumper's "Placebo" forum in his Neuitral club.as a typical example.

It is true that the "holes" in the N-95 mask are about twice the size opf the covid 19 virus, but the virus doesn't simply walk or fly through a mask because virus is not alive.

The Virus moves through the air on the back of vaport that comes from coughing and sneesing by those who are infected and those vapor particles are at least 20 times larger than than the access holes of the N-95 mask, but Thumper, of course didn't bother to include this Scientific fact because it doesn't fit his political agenda.

It's also true that neither the N-95 mask or the vaccines are 100% effective for preventing infection --- just far more effective than doing neither and lying about it and/or arguing that those who wear masks and get the shot are fearful chickens.

I know how the virus travels. It's not rocket science. I also didn't bother to include the pertinent scientific facts of viscosity, surface tension or air velocity among others. If you have to ask what that has to do with anything, you're not equipped to continue this conversation. You've already shown a serious lack of honesty and/or understanding by ignoring half of that post you seem so incensed about.

Of everyone in these clubs I'd wager I've spent much more time and have far more firsthand experience in hazardous environments wearing PPE, HAZMAT and SCBA gear.

The only ones talking about 100% effective are those who try to use that as a red herring.

N95 is an efficiency rating from the National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH) that means the N95 mask filters out 95% of (N)on-oil particles larger than .3 microns (.00003 cm). The masks are commonly worn to protect users from dust while working and from air pollution in many large cities.

I understand that mask is only <10% effective against the virus. To my mind that 10% is offset by the constant handling of the mask and transferring what virus it does collect to other surfaces.

With that in mind almost no one even wears N95 masks. The vast majority are wearing home made face diapers, cotton bandannas like an old west robber and partial plastic shields. All of this adds up to a dog and pony show. Placebo.

Real critical thinking goes a long way.

Your: "I know how the virus travels. It's not rocket science.".

So why did you LIE about it in your placebo forum when you argued the ineffectiveness of the N 95 mask?
mo-oneandmore
13-Sep-21, 09:46

You stated facts about the por-size of N-95 masks and Virus, but you intentionally called the mask a placebo and intentionally left out the most important reason for WHY masks work,

Was you intent to argue the ineffectiveness of masks or not, THUMP?

Here's the post you're trying to bicker about and misrepresent:

<Placebo
The COVID 19 virus particle size is 125 nanometers (0.125 microns); the range is 0.06 microns to .14 microns. The N95 mask filters down to 0.3 microns. The openings are twice the size of the virus...

Also, an N95 mask is far more 'dense' than 95% of the masks actually worn. Setting aside the gaps around the edges of the masks allowing free airflow in and out (not properly sealed), any virus caught in the mesh of the mask will be sucked in or blown out by the simple process of breathing.

If you're worried about getting COVID, your best bet is to maintain distance and avoid touching surfaces that others may have touched recently and wash your hands with a bubbly 70% alcohol solution. You can easily make this at home for pennies on the dollar.>

Why do you lie about what I actually said? Is that all you have going for yourself; Bickering and arguing? Everything I've said is true and correct. If you don't like it I really don't care.

Let the facts speak for themselves, thumper.
gameknot.com

You also called masks a "Petri dish" --- Virus does not "grow" in a petri dish, thump, because Virus is not alive --- a Petri dish is for growing Bacteria because bacteria IS alive (see common cold)

Social distancing helps and it's a good idea, but it's a far cry from the protection a mask (especially an N 95 mask) and a vaccination give, and a sum of all three works best (not 100%, of course).

Do you care at all that almost 700,000 Americans and almost 5,000,000 in the world have died in little more than a year, --- are you that evil

Do you think this deadly pandemic is a joke?

Interestingly, the common cold is caused by the common coronavirus.

Bacteria thrive in moist warm conditions like dirty masks.

SCBA and SCUBA are two different systems... mostly. Their similarities are that you have a sealed mask and carry your own oxygen with you into alien/deadly environments.

SCBA is acronym for Self Contained Breathing Apparatus. Think Firefighter going into an acrid smoke filled burning building. Which I've done as a firefighter.

SCUBA is acronym for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. Think SCUBA diver which I've also done. Trained as a Rescue Diver.

Thankyou for that but there are no 'heroes' among us. We work together as a team to get the job done. Nobody stands alone as a Rambo or lone wolf. That's Hollywood BS. The guys with me have saved my ass more than once and me theirs. I've even had gutsy 'civilians' step up stand shoulder to shoulder with me in a pinch. That's how it gets done.

I've never done SCBA, but I've done SCUBA at over 100ft down and it ain't like the movies.

Not smart. The best approach is to find a way to get out of a burning car before you become toast, but that's "heroism" I suppose.
After that: Driving a flaming car down the street is remarkably HOTTER than packing iron at a church reception for its WARM touch and manly macho effect.

I'm a retired fire-fighter been now for many years, I remember those days of jumping in to my boots and firefighter pants, Nomex I think was the the pull over face and neck open faced hat. then of course donning the SCBA followed by my Helmet. I remember doing all this in less than 30 seconds and getting on the truck.

Did I think I was a hero? No not really. I did all this with a job as a volunteer firefighter. Was there Pay? Yes not much! I would of done it for even less. As a first responder I rarely went out on Fire runs, Most of the calls were Car Accidents. I did use the jaws of life before. I did enjoy being a fire-fighter. I lived 1 mile from the fire station and when my pager went off I was quick to heave my home or whatever else place I was to drive to the station and if first I got on the radio to advise. We had a great team of firefighters.

That was a long time ago and after moving from there I never was able to volunteer in my city as we had all Full time employees. I did however continue my full time job as an Fire alarm Technician and to this day I will always remember all the good and bad memories. Yes we did our best to use the jaws of life but lost a woman due to her accident. That's the worst think that I remember.

Viruses
Viruses do not travel freely in the air. They infect cells, and those cells hitch rides on water droplets spread via breathing, coughing, and sneezing. Any ionization and the droplet will be attracted to the fiber, the way torn paper scraps are attracted to the teeth of a comb passed through one's hair.

Omission of these salient facts serves as a lie to discredit the effectiveness of masks.

This is a respiratory virus not known to spread via surface contact. Almost all infections are via inhaling it. It is possible some infections come from rubbing the virus into the eyes, which would most likely come from a surface contact. But this one is a respiratory pathogen, and the primary route is into the lungs.

Masks are not perfect, nothing is. Isolation and quarantine are our most effective methods of thwarting the spread. Social distancing helps, and we know these measures have been effective in that flu cases have fallen well under 10% of their typical values.

But if you are two meters from someone, a mask further reduces your odds of asymptomatic transmission to them significantly. Why do surgeons wear N95 masks? It is because they work.

thanks for sharing LS staying 2 meters or 6 feet is a great way to stay distanced. With that said 2-3 people at most in elevators. I saw a sign this week four distancing in a government elevator
Basically like a dice O , 0 0

4 .5 6 Seems a bit too crowded too me

wait for another elevator or use the stairs unless you have 12 floors.
Keep washing our hands use sanitizer. This virus is real and is not done this year

Always take the stairs. The government should eliminate elevators so people are forced to get in shape and strengthen their health.

Arsenal
Masks, vaccines, social distancing, contact tracing--all are useful. If vaccines work, why do you need masks? I hear people ask.

It like asking, "if your AR15 works, why do you need a Glock?"

Imagine if we sent soldiers off to war with only a single weapon. Encounter an enemy tank? Instead of reaching for antitank mortars just hose it down with your M16. Come across a machine gun nest? Pull the pin out of your M16 and toss it in. Maybe it does not work quite that way.

But I do know that taking ivermectin or hydroxychloroquinine is like going into battle with a dry dishcloth and fishing weights. You COULD fashion a bolo out of the weights, if you had some rope or stout test line, but if it really worked the professional soldiers would want it.
