"Minor Incursion"I base this on Biden telling the world a few weeks ago that he probably would not seek major sanctions if Putin only made a "minor incursion" or a "minor invasion". So, Biden basically told Putin to go ahead. www.businessinsider.com |

That is a nice thought until you quiet life is interrupted by an invasion. |

Pax Americana is done. America is and will remain too divided to do much. Russia will continue to expand. So will China. Working together and using proxies, the adversaries with more economic and geopolitics clout will see thr over extended American empire will crumble like the British Empire. This was all predictable in fact many high level folks have been concerned for years if America doesn’t change its path it will fail. If the public realized how bad it is they would panic but the divisions are still too great they would just fight and blame each other so better they stay naive. Blaming Biden for a situation where Putin has the upper hand while you all praise Putin as a genius www.cnn.com is just a sign of why America must finally pay the piper. But as they say whom the gods would destroy they first make insane. That is America and your dismissal of what I say won’t change it. |

Biden showed extreme weakness in the Afghan pullout giving to the enemy who hates us the country of Afghanistan and $80 Billion worth of American weapons, ammunition, supplies, and a state-of-the-art airport. Biden showed our other enemies (Russia, China, Iran, North Korea and others) that we are weak-willed, unwilling to keep our word, very confused, and unable to come to a common mind. We'll see if Biden and company have stronger sanctions that actually accomplish anything, but it is doubtful they will stop Putin. And, after Putin takes Ukraine, the Chinese will take Taiwan. DM is right... we are doomed. (Actually we may not be doomed. We DO have Kamala Harris looking for the root causes and advising our allies that we're serious.) |

There is much truth to this link. Clinton erred badly and then Bush 43 made it much worse by misreading Putin’s long game. History shows Nixon was correct in warning right before his death that those celebrating the fall of communism and focused only on a “peace dividend” without serious efforts to invest in fragile Russian democracy were making a huge mistake. www.washingtonpost.com. Now we have the anti-USA Russia and China alliance feared long ago. www.nytimes.com American arrogance over its “exceptionalism” and the supposed “end of history” is the root cause and the consequences have come home to roost. Pride of man… |

DMI remember the possibility of a Russian-Chinese alliance back during the Vietnam War period. It could now be a reality. |

Softaire It’s just not worth wasting time when you can’t stick to facts. We have a majority of citizens who are myopic. America thus deserves to fail and is well down that path. You all are part of the reason. |

DMBiden stopped drilling and exploration of federal lands. Biden approved the Nordstream II pipeline for Russia. Biden asked OPEC to increase production. Oil per barrel costs have risen. Gasoline costs have risen. Home heating oil costs have risen. You don't see a correlation? |

Life arises in a chaotic system and consists of dilemmas with unintended consequences; not simplistic answers. The long version of Rev Wright’s speech taken in context youtu.be not the snippets conservatives distort is far more true than you would ever understand. It’s America’s time of judgement and she was found wanting—just look outside your bubble. You are just being used by sloganeering pundits who don’t address root causes. But since you can’t open your eyes to it, there is no point. |

I imagine that the cost of funding green alternatives to energy has not hurt the cost of energy, right? I imagine that giving away Afghanistan and its' minerals to the Taliban and China has not helped prices. I'm sure that you also think that the Russian incursion into Ukraine is not causing any increase in cost to us. But why would Biden say that our prices will be going up even more now? Why do you always argue with common sense? |

We know Trump not only openly admired Putin but served his agenda. Now that Putin knows America is hopelessly divided he has calculated he doesn’t care about ineffective western sanctions. The Russia-China-Iran alliance is stronger long term what Biden can do and America’s divisions are too great for Putin etc to worry. Welcome to the new world order and the new strongman era. It is just the beginning. -) |

You are really very funny and not very serious. Of course, by doing that you verify and confirm what i said. Thank you. |

ThumperYou accuse me of fostering division but it’s just you don’t want to face reality. Even your own clubs prove my point. |
||||||

DMI call you out for trying to foster division based on your many posts promoting division. |

It’s just how your brains work—and that so many of you live in groupthink lies so you can’t recognize it makes it incurable. The result of this isn’t satisfying but at least there is the comfort you will see some of it come to pass Your inability to see these divisions over basic facts will end the American experiment is unfortunate. But it’s what it is. |

ThumperI realize your situation is different and you have no clue what I am saying. But for the majority it just is not that way: www.forbes.com It doesn’t mean for example us you, softaire and/or I hypothetically meeting would end badly. I accept your experiences shape your views and they are very different but we have more in common than it appears. Plus in your world I’m a when in Rome guy…not Antifa. But I have to think you underestimate where this will end. That liberals don’t bother in your clubs anymore is an indicator not just personal or accidental. |

Could you ever think that the crushing, devastating sanctions placed on Putin by Biden could be so crippling and effective? |
||||||
|
stalhandske 07-Mar-22, 22:02 |
I don't understand this query. Is it criticism? It seems to me to focus on Biden's reactions and to ignore the actions of the rest of the "West". |
||||||
|
His sanctions really didn't do much good, did they. WHY do you think America is still buying Russian oil and gas? Do you think Biden is being "tough" on Russia? Who do you think is the Russian stooge now? |
