What is the Team Score?
The team score is not the team rank. The team score appears on the team pages and it is seen on the team table. It is a number that can be positive or negative. What does this number represent and how is it calculated?

The team score is the number of team games won minus the number of team games lost. On the Team Table, it is possible to sort by the team score and see the ranks of the teams based on the team score. Every game counts equally. A team game won in 2006 by a player whose GameKnot account was deleted in 2008 counts just as much (+1) as a team game won in May 2021.

Thank you! I have had that question for years, but could never find the answer in the GK documentation. ๐ โ

You're welcome. I wish the Score for each individual calendar year were readily available and also that match records or at least a "Match Score" were also tallied . The information is available on the site in the form of results for all previous team games and matches, and I'm very glad that it is. But I don't know any quick way to process this "raw data."

You can copy/paste it into Excel or a spreadsheet program. From there you can sort or use algorithms to get more stats. All of the tables on GK can be pasted into Excel.

For some reason, it never occurred to me to try something as simple as copy/paste . Thank you for the tip!

Score
A high or low number by itself is not that meaningful. Instead, divide the team score by the games played. If higher than two the player does really well. A negative score suggests the player is probably always fair. A high positive ratio, however, could indicate chicanery.

Copy/Paste
Copy, and if pasting into Excel select special and text. This strips out ll the hyperlink nonsense.

...I should really learn how to do this. I count one by one...you can see by my team homepage how well that's gone. This sounds much easier...unfortunately I'm not very tech savvy

Team score explained
Out of the total team games played you receive 1 point for each win, 0 for a draw and -1 point for a loss. This is how the individual team player's score is calculated as well

Too bad you have to count through the history to be able to see how the score has changed through time. Iโm into the history of these things, but itโs too much effort to go through so much history it seems
