ITER, Is nuclear fusion, the green energy of the near future ?
www.msn.com

Fusion is the process that powers the sun and the stars, and scientists are getting a lot closer to replicating it here on Earth. ITER, a $22 billion international fusion megaproject in the south of France, is the most well-funded endeavor, but investors are also pouring money into fusion start-ups. Now, the race is on to prove that fusion power is not only possible, but integral to a clean energy future.

Most have little doubt that nuclear fusion, but too many place far more value into Fusion power than it's worthy of.

Research has been on-going for decades, but I don't believe science has yet achieved power in (huge lasers) to power out ratio of 1'1, and the cost of a single test is astronomical, so $22 Billion into the research ain't hay even though France likely needs the money now that their Nuclear sub deal with the Aussies went bad.

Solar power is far cleaner and certainly less expensive than anything that till come out of this fusion research, even if solar power requires a bit more land.
