The cars that run by steam are not new. The problem is that you have to boil water to get steam and needs burning of wood or fossil fuel. It takes time and inconvenient to start a steam engine. When I was a kid, we still had trains run by steam. Please check Jay Leno's steam engine car in above youtube.

Steam cars have been around since the 19th century ...
Pre pandemic in the UK we have "road runs" basically a few British eccentrics travelling to road shows , steam enthusiasts ... the main problem no bluetooth... crickey !
