Welcome Angela to the chess hall of "Team captains and followers". You said: ❤️We got married August 7th, 2021❤️ Due to my studies, I have to postpone my games from time to time. You are playing 52 chess games now. That is a lot of games for me, and I cannot handle that much. I am playing only one game now. I am looking for a part time job and if I play many games, I cannot take care of my patients as a physician. For most of us chess is just a hobby and cannot make a livelihood by playing chess. Therefore, my advice is that focus your attention more on medical studies now. When you become a doctor, you can play more chess games and can challenge your fellow countryman, Magnus Carlsen, beat him to become the world chess champion.

Ignore Ace
Life is meant to be enjoyed. Play chess. Be mindful of your limits. Ace is a stick in the mud. A killjoy. A fuddy duddy. A humbug. He has not a shred of joie de vivre.

Always time for chess!

It took me a while to find this entry, but find it I did. riaannieman; 26-Mar-21, 00:26: about my progress as a player. Opponents who know me well will remember that I used to find it difficult to go over 1300 for any period of time. However, since I started taking lessons at the Pretoria Chess club with tutors Hans Steyn, , Nedjo Stefanovic, Rufus Reynecke and Riaan du Plessis which are paying off, I have been hitting 1400 more regularly. I must quickly add that Hans Steyn recently became #2 in the South African open. I also sent private messages to several captains at the time, telling them about my lessons with tutors. I just thought it well to refresh the entry with my current progress. My goal is still to break 1500 one day, but I doubt that will happen this year, but maybe next year.

My tutor at the Pretoria Chess Club competed in the World Chess Championship in Assisi the past two weeks. Hans Steyn came 116th: chess-results.com chess-results.com

I have been a member since May 2007. I was a co-captain on Dune back years ago. Now Co-Captain with Balance and getting lots of help from my Captain to refresh memory about things I forgot and new things since I had left for a short time not the Site, just as a Co-Captain because of Medical issues. Hopefully I will have not problems going forward. My Real name is Bill, nice to be back.

riaannieman; 18-Sep-22, 09:05: About my progress as a chess player. About 16 hours ago I broke 1500 for the first time. The lessons by Hans Steyn as well as other chess players at the Pretoria Chess club are paying dividends. It has taken me a long time to progress to this point. I report this to all captains, to remove any doubt about my higher rating since joining the Pretoria Chess club in 2020. I have improved from a +-1200 player to around 1450 to 1480 on average.

Thanks for accepting my request to join!
I've been on Game knot since 2006, previously I played Correspondence chess since 1990 and over the board chess since 1972. I have been captain /co captain of a number of teams, The RWB team, Sneaky Knights, Placida (a team I formed before handing it over to another player for personal reasons, At least it is safe hands now with Klaus, I hope 🤭). Now co captain of Frechheit Siegt where I arrange nearly all our team game. Nice to be here, Chris

Greetings
Glad to be aboard here. I am currently captain of Yeshua's Army and am ably assisted by my three co-captains, Unumchess, Bbrown, and Haratta (I think I listed them in order of longevity in their positions). I am a student of the Scriptures and enjoy learning to work with wood. I also enjoy discussing matters of faith, politics, and history, although my positions are the results of looking into the "other side" of many arguments due to my penchant for seeking "the rest of the story," in the words of the late Paul Harvey. I very much enjoy the opportunity to play with (and chat with) folks from all over the world. It is enlightening to be able to learn from as well as to teach others. I've been involved in chess organizing for a pretty long time (since about 1975) although I took a hiatus from active chess for about 15 years while I got involved in playing bagpipes and learning logging skills (what a combination for destroying one's hearing!). It will be great to have this group as a resource for resolving problems on GK as they arise.

Hi to all
Thanks for accepting me in this club. As the saying goes, "Jack of all trades and master of one(none)" I have interest in many subjects, but we all have limited time to pursue many things even if you live up to 100 years of age. BTW, I created a "Multiverse Chess Club" and I would like to invite everyone to join my chess club. gameknot.com

Hi, everyone. My name is Ariel. I'm American, but living in Australia. I am co-captain and trainer for the Kingslayers. My nickname is from role-playing games, and any pretense at achieving GM in chess is beyond aspirational at this point. I started playing chess competitively in high school and have had fits and starts over the years. One day I hope to consistently keep my rating over 2K here. All the best in your chess adventures! egm

To all!! my name is Mike, just coming back to captain my team to greatness! thank you. mike d.

Hello mike d. this is Mike D. How have you been, no speak for a long time.
|
|
My name is Mike, and I've been on gameknot so long I can't remember when I joined! I've been running Cricket-Match-Special for a while now, maybe bearz will remember when, because he helped me to take over what was a troubled team at the time. I'm from the West Indies, so I love cricket, and I thought this would be a good name to give the team - even though we have members who don't know anything about cricket! I used to play competitively, but now that I'm on the wrong side of 60, I just play on gameknot. I also run a small business that teaches primary school children how to play chess in south Hertfordshire.
