I need a second co-captain and one of our members in Sparticus wants to help me. The problem is premium membership. I know some of you are paying for the co-captains and I am willing to do the same....or my husband ( he doesn´t know...) I do not earn any money yet..but how do I do that? I do not want to give my visa card to anyone..of course..

Captain Wanted
No it's not Triton. Just been asked if i can help find a captain for a large team. I don't want to hand out too much information but please contact me and i can pass it on to the relevant person.
Please don't get me to give you details of the team. I will forward all messages too the captain and he will then maybe be in touch. Sorry

Co-Captain Needed for Team Attitude
Team Attitude needs a Co-Captain to share in setting up matches with other teams and collaborating with me on all aspects of team management. No Co-Captain experience is required - will train. Needs very good attention to detail. Please message me to discuss.

Re: Co-Captain Needed for Team Attitude
Success! One of my team members, milkomeda, volunteered in response to a request I put in our Team Forum.

I'll throw the towel in. Triton also needs a co captain and still after a captain for another team?

Unfortunately the responsibilities of a captain takes a lot of time, and many players do not see their way open to spend so much time managing a team. After the initial novelty of playing online, and a lot of correspondence games as well, many players realize how time-consuming playing chess is, and cannot reconcile other real world responsibilities with those of a digital world as well. What does alleviate my time-table a bit is delegating some responsibilities to team members, and one should never underestimate the fact that I can contact most of my team by WhatsApp, Telegram, or Viber almost immediately. It really helps to manage the team effectively.

Riaan
Riaan, what sorts of things do you delegate? Thanks - Dave

I take the primary responsibility to set up challenges, but due to the time difference, especially with the USA, by the time I go offline the US opposing captains come online. Ian is about an hour behind South African time, or in winter it is two hours, and he also approves what I set up. Then Mark takes over and approves what I set up. If there is something he is not sure about, he leaves it to the team founder Trevor to look at ASAP. Trevor is in Australia. If Trevor misses it, Ian and myself pick it up again when we come online. All captains respond to challenges received as soon as possible. We have an incentive program in the team, promoting the players as they reach certain milestones. Devon handles that for me, and prepares the text, which I just copy and paste when he sends it over. Björn and Chris checks for time-outs and alerts me. I then contact my players and ask for a reason, remind them to postpone or offer to give them a break. Recently one of my players had a heart attack, and was hospitalized. I found that out using WhatsApp, and I asked him to get someone to postpone his games for him, but only after the first few games had already lapsed due to time-out. I managed to avoid about 1/3 of his games timing out. That is about everything. Other incidents, such as someone applying to join the tea, is a collective decision between several senior players in the team. Seniority is not equal to rating- it is equal to dedication and how long a person has been a member of the team. If such a decision has to be made, I contact a group of senior players by WhatsApp, Telegram, Line or Viber and get quick feedback. I trust my co-captains implicitly, and never second guess their decisions. I'll back them all the way, even if I do not personally agree with their decisions; we discuss our differences of opinion in private...... not that there has been many over the years. I only remember two since I became captain.

I have got a co-captain, Titus. Went through teams with only two or three members, and came with a suggestion. He used some time before he said yes.
You've just got to keep trying, Emma. That's all I can say.

Emma
Great idea! Nice to have a co-cap!
Wish i had one Have a great one but has issues in the home So Desperately after an active Co Captain. Yes before anyone asks Joe has gone until he sorts things out so it's just me.
I will be gone until August 5th. Holiday with my husband. Hopefully will my new co-captain do the job!!
For a different reason, I was kind of similar to joveyboy1, when I went to Europe in November. But, your co-captain should do the job, if he is well trained, Emma.
He was a captain for a small team, so he knows what to do...Well, our flight will leave in a short time. Wish you all a happy summer!
And
I also wish that you have a good summer, Emma.

I would message him & say I had observed that he had declined some challenges that I would have accepted, and remind him of my acceptance criteria. If he continues to decline all, I would remove him from being co-captain. Then I would put a note on the Message to Team Captains on the team page that I am on vacation & won't be handling challenges till ___.
Thanks Dave! Have written the message....

Have you checked the team forum page to see if he has made a post about not accepting games? The Team forum page is often overlooked. However I would expect that he should have DM'ed you. But people can be weird.
