Krazy Knights
is retired from the navy, and a good guy. He dumped Catseye from Planet Chess back in February.

I’m sure he just overlooked the name change.

I got a reply, the player is removed!

Thank You, Emma!

Thanks to all for keeping catseye/imapirate under observation…

IMAPIRATE/CATSEYE
Ciao Captains,
The problem is that the Captain of Barmy Army gave him challenges before kicking him out, and even if he is no longer in the Team the games continue, they are still valid but imapirate has no team anymore and there is no way to cancel the games that no longer make sense! This is the real and best way to counter cheaters!

What if all his opponents resigned their 16 team games with him? His rating would suddenly jump up about 160. That would make it hard for him to find opponents!

Ciao saguaro,
This doesn't happen because in the remaining 30 "private" games he will lose all of them and so he always maintains the same level of rating, in fact perhaps he could even go down.
This is his scheme of the perfect rating manipulator.

Piero, I don't understand why he will lose all the "private" games.

Simply resign.
saguaro
30-Jun-24, 12:56

Oh, I see - if all his team game opponents resign, he can maintain his rating by resigning his "private" games.

Elementary..... Watson!

Intentionally
<<Piero, I don't understand why he will lose all the "private" games.>>

He throws the private games, like a boxer taking a fall, just so he can continue getting matched against weaker team opponents.

game

17. dxe5 Nd7

He never blunders like this in team games. But he plays past move twenty to conceal the fact he threw this game.

game

15. Rfe1? Here he pitches a game to a player rated 500 points below him, so he can drop twenty.

The game is far from lost, but he resigns anyway. He wastes no time depressing his ELO.

game

Honestly? 13. Qxc2? He doesn’t notice the knight is covering that bishop?

No, it’s just a private game and he needs an excuse to resign early.

White to play for a draw from a losing position.
White to play:

In the diagram,
W's Rd8 is pinned by B's Rd1
If B x Ne4, R x Rd8 and Black will win.
To prevent Black from winning, White should aim for a draw.
Black should also be careful not to lose N. If W has R + B against Black which has R only, W will win.
What will be White's few moves to make a draw.

Double left clicks on the chess board and moves on the analysis board until you find the solution.

I fail to see what this is to do with rating manipulation!

How can we manipulate our ratings?
This is a good question:
I fail to see what this is to do with rating manipulation!
---------
I have a straightforward answer to this question, but I would like to defer the answer until 7 days after this puzzle is posted. In my opinion, White can draw the game in not more than 7 moves. Neither White nor Black is supposed to lose the game. I am testing my theory that this game is a draw. Please solve the puzzle first and give me some satisfaction. I can assure that GK comrades who try to solve this puzzle are not guinea pigs, IMHO.

Imapirate has been “removed”…
…from his mini-tournaments.

I just noticed this, may have been done a while ago.

So perhaps someone is listening at GK?
saguaro
28-Jul-24, 07:16

I doubt it was GK, as they don't respond to anything.

wasatch
28-Jul-24, 07:33

Ok, but then why would he quit all his tournaments?
saguaro
28-Jul-24, 08:02

Got tired? Losing vs higher ratings? Decided it was unfair to opponents due to his manipulated rating?
wasatch

…doesn’t matter to me. I’m on a mission to drive him from GK.

…sorta like the US Marines: no better friend…no worse enemy…
