Be aware
I have just removed shivarajrocky from my team for wanting me to send him money to India using upi id and i do not know what that is.
If i reported it to GK would they do anything as nothing has taken place.
I just wanted to put everyone in the picture.

UPI- Unified Payments Interface.
Kind of like Venmo or Zelle and based out of India.

Question is, Why ask for money on a chess site? If someone was in need of money to play chess, I might purchase them a membership.

Waiting to see what GameKnot has to say about it.

Skypilot
Thanks Jim for putting me right about UPI.
he sent me a msg he needed help with his finance and could i help.

I thought this is a red flag i asked how do you want me to help you.
You want money.

the next time he came on line. use upi id.

I said do not ask for money or a scam
your off this team.

He did not mention any amount off money and as long as i can remember he has always been a free member of the team.

I removed him from the team put him on my ignore list then posted on this forum and the team forum and informed GK.

India
It could be a cultural thing. In Indian people
do go on the streets and beg.

People do it in the USA, but it's a little different here.
In India, it might be looked at as a traditional behaviour
of the lowest class for millennia, and therefore accepted.

The person doing the begging is, in some points of view,
actually providing an opportunity for the one being begged to
to provide assistance, no matter how small, to gain Karmic
Merit.

The tricky part is discerning the intention of the beggar

Classica
In India it's a cultural way of life and there are people begging in most countries.

But this is not the place to ask for money were here to play chess I am in Australia so this person is branching out.

At the bottom of your post the tricky part is so right.

The tricky part is the person on line has cash coming out of there ears or a beggar the only person on line knows.

Agreed. Not the right venue.

I learned my lesson when I first came to NYC.
I used to give to a beggar on the street in a posh neighborhood
where I worked. One day, I'm sitting in the pub and
I mentioned to my friend that I had given a few dollars
to this man who looked destitute. They said, he's in the
back of the pub - so I find him drinking top shelf hooch.
Later they tell me he owns three buildings. Lessons learned.
But I still give to beggars, but I am choosy. 🧐

It's simple. If you don't want to give a person anything then don't. If you feel like giving them something then do. And the moral of the story is, you never know what a person is going through. They could be a faker or they could be destitute. You don't know. And very few have an opportunity to find out. With that said, they will give an account on the matter not you.

GK reply
From GK they wanted me to clarify upi id as they didn't know what it was.

So they could look into this matter in detail and determine if further steps are required.

I have done this and see what happens.

Thank you for your reply - I will look in to this account and see if this was a one time thing, or a pattern of behaviour. Our users should never be requesting money from other users, this is in violation of our rules.

I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
