LOL But this is the Jesus thread and while I normally avoid these like a face masked, vaxxed liberal dodging a pandemic, let’s return to the thread topic. You hand write the Bible. I had a roommate in college who did that. He had blank, bound books. We may have discussed this before but I do not recall. Do you use plain high quality bound books, or do you write on blank pages that you bind later? What do you do with your copies? My roommate sold his. People paid a lot for his calligraphy, and I guess he had buyers lined up before he started. My hand writing looks like a palsy victim suffered a stroke, and then dropped acid. One thing I like about what you do is that it does give you a deep understanding both of the text you are copying and the time and effort scribes took to ensure a faithful reproduction. The pastor of my church explained that every time a scribe came to the name of God they switched to a new pen, with such reverence was YHWH held. It occurred to me they must have had only one pen used for God, otherwise they would have burned through a hell of a lot of quails. I wouldn’t have bothered. Even though I do venerate deity. So this is one thing I respect about you over Frank. I don’t know his religious background, but I do know he is a crank. Young flat earth? None of that is remotely supportable. It is like, can’t someone let this guy peer through a telescope some time? Or have him keep track of sunset times each day for a week, then take a trip two time zones over east (or west) and repeat? How would that not convince the rowdiest flerf? I pointed out to another flat earth friend of mine that the phone company would have to be in on the hoax, intercepting phone calls to friends in other time zones and editing any talk of terminator lines to convince each other sunsets were staggered instead of universal. Then what do they do with high latitudes in perpetual dark or day? How do you get a 24 hour day only above or below an arctic/antarctic circle? Guess I need a different thread, and maybe Frank abandoned that. He certainly hasn’t abandoned his faith and trust in Groper. |

Darwin knew nothing of horizontal gene transfer, nor did the people involved in the modern synthesis which merged Mendelian genetics into Darwin’s mutation (inheritable variation) mechanism. And the endogenous retroviral genetic insertions responsible for a fair measure of horizontal gene transfer would be like strapping JATO to the engine of evolution. |

BTW, I’m not at all surprised by the length of time that passed (and the Apostle Paul’s letters to churches were written much earlier than that.) Early Christians were not only being severely persecuted but were involved in spreading the Gospel and the most effective way of communicating back then was verbally. |
