you are correct. That's one of the things I worry about also.

<I'm worried about Puttin. If he feels cornered, don't get his way... Seems like he might of bit off more than he thought but he ain't backing down >

That's just it. It is a very delicate balance of what to do, not to 'get his way' but also to avoid corner him to the extreme that he comes back with nukes! That's what the international politics is much about right now.

It is Inevitable
Nuclear war has not happened yet. Eighty years. Well, seventy five, at any rate. Seventy seven, come August. After the Trinity test.

That is a very long time, considering we have had people itching to deploy these. Groper threatened to use them, claiming his swollen red button was bigger than Kim Jong Un's.

His willingness to dust them off lowered international resistance to the concept of deploying them. The big surprise is that we lasted almost eighty years. We won't make it to eighty.

My granddaughter will be born today. It would be nice if she sees two. Probably a pipe dream.

I disagree. Nuclear attacks won't be done because there is nothing to win by it.
Of course, I have been wrong before, as I admit I was with regard to Putin's attack against Ukraine. I am still surprised that Putin wasn't sufficiently informed not to do that, since he will only lose now and one of his goals (to prevent NATO expansion towards Russia) is about to break down BECAUSE of his attack.

Finland's president Sauli Niinistö has very clearly and openly said that Putin has only himself to blame when both Finand and Sweden will now become NATO members. Niinistö's message to Putin was 'to find the reason, just look in the mirror'!

I honestly don't think Putin and the ranking officials in Russia want their country to be turned into a glass parking lot. I know their people don't. The 'Kremlin' could vindictively give the world a bloody nose but they would cease to exist in such an exchange. Every nation would be aligned against them and we've already seen how inept Russia's military machine actually is.

Beside Russia... Israel, India, Pakistan, United Kingdom, China, France and the United States have nuclear weapons and the systems to deliver them. All of these countries know which side their bread is buttered on and would actively oppose Russia in an all-out shootout.

What Russians Want
has always been irrelevant.

When has any Russian leader, save possibly Yeltsin, listened to the people?

I think Gorbachev might deserve a tiny bit of credit there.

A noted Russian expert says the Russian leadership is convinced America is so weak they can bomb a city and America will squeal like a stuck pig and fall in line, just like we did when Saudi nationals took down the twin towers.

George Soros is reputed to believe nuclear was is inevitable. Will Putin admit defeat? We are being warned he will not. The only real question concerns which city he will melt. Kiev, Odessa, maybe one of the lesser US cities? Boise, Idaho. It is the only blue part of the state--Idaho conservatives would not turn against Putler for taking out the state capitol.

Ace on Ukraine
In Ace’s Solo self abuse club he states Ukraine cannot win. The reality has always been that Putler cannot win. Just as the Soviet Union could not prevail in Afghanistan, even if they ARE successful in taking Ukraine, they cannot keep it. It will be as costly and inevitably pointless as the US nation building efforts in Afghanistan. Ukraine is a free country, and people cherish freedom more than anything. That is why they make such poor slaves.

Putler’s dream will prove to be a nightmare, and lead to the downfall of Russia. The nation will implode. It is a pariah state, run by a soulless runt of a dictator.

War Crimes
The nasty war criminal Vladolf Putler has bombed over 900 clinics and hospitals. At the beginning of the war a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee set up an escape route for children stricken with cancer. Some died en route, but many more would have died with the despised warlord interrupting desperately needed medical supplies.

Ukrainian First Lady Olena Kyiashko pleaded with world leaders to help these children on whom Putler waged war, and many countries answered, particularly Poland. US first lady Jill Biden also answered, helping many of these children come to the US for treatment.

Contrast this with the attitude of Melania Trump, who wore a “I Really Don’t Care, Do U” jacket to visit immigrant children she didn’t really want to see.

Had Putler attacked while Trump was president, US aid, including military arms, would have flowed generously into Russia. Ukraine would still have been supported by Finland, regardless how deferential Stalhandske is to Putin, and Estonia, but their aid wouldn’t be enough to overcome naked Russian aggression.

The fascist devil must not win, or democracy dies world wide.

For this reason I’m boycotting Pepsi and Johnson and Johnson. These companies support Putler’s war crimes.

On a cruise to Honduras earlier this year Stolichnaya was really cheap so I bought two bottles. It took me awhile to realize what I had done, and I am ashamed. Better to buy vodka that doesn’t kill Ukrainian children.

How to end Russia’s war on Ukraine? Then posts an MSN link containing this:

“It is the Russian Federation that undermines international law and the global security order; organized a large-scale bloody unprovoked war; demonstratively terrorizes the civilian population of another country with cruise missiles, killing thousands of people.”

Valley Forge responds with the drool that Democrats launched this war to cover up Biden’s crimes—apparently the collusion is not between Trump (who sought to undermine NATO), but that Putin is Biden’s lapdog, doing the master’s bidding.

What rot. Make no mistake—if the Ukrainian people did not want freedom from the rule of an evil tyrant they would have surrendered on day one. Every nation recognizes this, which is why Poland, Finland, Estonia, and others have donated more aid per capita than the US. Is every NATO ally also another Biden pawn?

He thought we could build a weapon so terrible it could only be used once.

Putin has demonstrated no hesitation in killing Ukrainian civilians. What odds he’ll show restraint against Americans? If Estonians or Finlanders are targeted, the US is committed to respond.

Meanwhile, Republicans seem all too eager to hand over Ukraine to Putin, just as they happily acceded US election integrity to the Russian colluder. “I love it!” Donald Jr.

VF Destroying Ukraine
<<NATO was established, and ever since, the West has been squeezing Russia. Ukraine was the last straw for Putin!>>

What? Ukraine kicking out Putin’s puppet was the last straw?

<<Our Deep State has been pushing a WW with Russia since 2016; even trying to mold a fake narrative about Trump and Putin. >>

Fake narrative? Who said, “I love it!” Hint: Donald Trump Jr., after being told Russia wanted to collude on behalf of Trump.

Who gave campaign data to Russian agents? Hint: Donald Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who Trump pardoned for that crime.

How many Russian GRU agents did Mueller indict for colluding with Trump’s campaign? Hint: More than thirty.

What currency did Russia use to purchase Facebook ads for Trump? Hint: Rubles.

<<The Democratic Party NEEDS a war with Russia to derail Trump's 2024 Presidential bid, and to cover up all their Corruption with Zelensky. >>

Nonsense. This claim is drivel. If we were closer I would hand you a napkin or doily to mop it up.

Instead, the only thing undermining Trump’s campaign is Trump himself. He is just two more indictments away from clinching the GOP nomination. I cannot help but think this is just part of a strategy to keep his name in the news.

Trump leads DeSantis by more than seventy felony charges.

Trump can and would rapidly end the Ukraine War, though it would take more than twenty four hours.

He would do it by withdrawing from NATO, one of Putin’s chief objectives, and by redirecting arms shipments from Ukraine to Russia. Putin would be delighted to get his hands on US military technology.

Supporting Ukraine
We have not lost a single soldier in Ukraine, but with our assistance Russia has no professional army left, and their military capability has been reduced 50%.

Ukraine has no professional army left either, both sides are fighting with volunteers, though to this Russia has added convicts. So while we send tax dollars all carefully accounted for, Ukraine is paying with their lives. And the pay would pay with or without our aid. Our assistance has be3n of enormous benefit, to which they are deeply grateful. Absent that help Putin would still be killing Ukrainians—just with far greater ease.

Admiral possibly killed
“Ukraine has claimed that the commander of Russia's Black Sea Feet, Admiral Viktor Sokolov, has been killed in the Ukrainian attack in Sevastopol on Friday.

"After the hit of the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, 34 officers were killed, including the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet," the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces said in an update Monday, adding that more than 100 other Russian servicemen were wounded.

Sevastopol, home to Russia’s Black Sea Fleet headquarters, is one of the largest cities on the Crimean peninsula and was illegally annexed by Moscow’s forces in 2014.

CNN cannot independently confirm Ukraine's claims about Solokov or the number of casualties.

Ukraine is playing the smart game here.

Taking care to hit military targets, not bombing civilian residential areas or infrastructure. Not only good for propaganda purposes, but it gives the proverbial Russian-in-the-street less reason to support Putin's war. If their own family were being killed in their beds, the Russian population would demand revenge.

It also degrades the Russian military capability more than slaughtering the kids in a pre-school. An important consideration when ammunition is scarce.

Much better targetting that destroying Kyiv just to cause dismay. When will political idiots realise that terror bombing doesn't destroy morale; it hardens it. "These guys are total bastards, so there's no way we are going to surrender to their doubtful mercies!"

I recall WW2 films of Londoners during the bombing, and later of Germans under Allied bombing. A sign reading something like "Unsere Mauern sind zerstört, aber nicht unser Geist."

Your 23:50 comment

I don't necessarily agree that "carpet" bombing doesn't have a strong effect on morale for those who directly face the bombing, but I can agree that it can have a hardening effect, and it can certainly grow a lasting hate for the enemy.

Just an opinion of course.

An expensive way of making propaganda! Losses shot down over Germany were over 5% per raid, with another 15% lost on the way back or crashing on return. I wouldn't send my boys out if it would cost 20% of them their lives for nothing more than a boast.

Very good point 😃.

One of the craziest stories I have heard about British humor during the war. I don't know if it's true. But never let the truth get in the way of a good story. Lol *joking.

Is. A British reconnaissance plane was taking pictures near Germany I think it was probably still on France. They were trying to locate German airfields and they caught the Germans constructing a fake airfield in the middle of them constructing it so they knew it was fake. Everything was like made out of wood the Allies did stuff like that cacti Isle ice even had a whole entire ghost army. Anyway when they went to bomb the German airfield they annihilated the real one and then they dropped a wooden bomb (carved ) on the fake one.

I thought that was pretty hilarious, my gut tells me it's true. However I have no proof.
