A time-out secret only the GK pro's know...time-out their game statistically? Not on purpose, but it just happens to occur? Well,in my experiences on GK since 2005,I have noticed a "trend". That trend "leans"towards the major holidays. But those holidays vary per country. Perhaps the parties, booze ,New Years Eve lamp shade hats or the work putting up that Christmas Tree, tend to let some of the GK games "slip by"and getting timed-out because they are temporarily forgotten! It does make sense,if you think about it.Now,GK does add time to some of the holidays, religious holidays and more... but that STILL is NOT enough time to cover forgetfulness! And do not forget, many USA holidays differ from some other countries in which GK does NOT add extra time! So,if you want to get on the psychological train of seeking an opponent that may time-out... first look at his time-out % in their profile!Pick a good one that has over 14% time-outs! Then plan ahead!Start a game about 2 months before Christmas or the 4th of July and make moves(preferrably 2 day time settings, not 3)where the game is in the endgame after 2 months or more and requires much longer and deeper thought process.Plan to make many moves on a Thursday night,so that,by Saturday(when more life is going on and away from work), a player will more statistically time-out.But your thinking...time is added on a Saturday!Ahhhh...but many players FORGET that the added time BEGINS by 5pm PST!Not simply by 1am Saturday morning! So,some players look at the clock and think they have hours to go,but still time-out not knowing the GK clocks of death as well as they think they do! Since 2005,after I looked at the time=-out % factor on a player profile,I have had at least 10 games with HIGH RATED players timing out!Yes..shovel those points to me baby!!! All hogwash?Think again!Hollow rating points achieved?Well,so what? See,some players like myself need to(or try to)achieve a past rating level they once had on GK.So,short cuts save time and thought!Just today,I had a player of over 2500 barely make it to the chess board in time!Only about 5 minutes remained!!He was lucky! I could have used those extra 12 points!!!Well...next time!I await for you...in the shadows! |
