The Christian God
If you read the Bible, you most probably agree with the famous quote: "The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully". Taken from the excellent book by Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion.

I read the Bible
Actually, I do read the Bible and I disagree with the delusional Dawkins. You could, perhaps, read it yourself and give me some examples of this fictional god that seems to be all Dawkins wants to find in the Bible. I'm sure you could find some. But the characterization of God that can be made with these examples is completely overwhelmed by a thousand times more Biblical teaching regarding the character of God--texts that present the God of the Christian and the Jew as a person with a much more perfectly developed character than Dawkins raging maniac.

For example?
What are those texts that "present the God of the Christian and the Jew as a person with much more perfectly developed character than Dawkins raging maniac"? And tell if you still want examples of the freaky god of the Old Testament.

The bible and god
Using the bible as a source for the behavior or the existence of god for that matter, is like using Twas the Night Before Xmas to prove the existence of Santa Claus.
