Introduction
Greetings from Colorado

Name's Bob, I use Sr., 'cause there's a Jr. He's 46, so that makes me retired (and tired). I'm a member of Team Finland et al. Since our American Social Security isn't enough to support me in the manner to which I have become accustomed, I'm also a homebuilder. I build moderate mountain homes on 3-5 acres, all of which have a view such as the photo on my profile.

I'm hoping this club will help my Chess improve.

hello everyone...
My name is Brandy, and I'm the team captain of Team 256....nothing really significant about the team name (except for a lack of creativity)...we were the 256th team to be created on GameKnot.

I'm from Baltimore, Maryland in the U.S.

Hello everyone!
Nice meeting u all here, and reading all infos (apart from little tiring-) )
Remembering the names of all,by time, and knowing u more, here, would be even better -)
Hope we could have a fun-friendly chat here, apart from playing chess ,for which i dont have so free time ,while i get involved all time in my team's events-games that i organise and like more .I go for it,right -)
Nice there are a lot of captains - co-captains here already,we could "exchange" attitudes or arrange fanatical team matches (just kidding)

I am Joan from Athens,Greece, learned chess since child {maybe i could be a stronger chess player by now, hope i am not that stupid -) } , used to play for years few games at national chess championship for my home town team ,and enjoy playing at gameknot chess lately much more, with players from all over the world, friendship { or bad events-) } opportunities through this makes playing chess more enjoyable.I enjoy even more ,being the captain of team MUUMUU .My nickname JJJ refers to three times-J from Joan, just for fun ( too ) . What i enjoy at gameknot more,is that i can play out -of -ordinary risky moves ,at the openings, enjoying my games more, free of the result anxiety. This explains why i dont like my team games so much -)

I am a big talker ,u must have noticed this already, and teaser

--- Bob,can u please gift me for my birthday one of the homes u build? -)
--- Ilkka ,thank u for the invitation ,again

Aloha to all, once more ( muumuu is a Hawaiian clothing that i chose for uncommon-happy-fun as my team's name) and hope to hear from u all here more

Introduction
Thanks for inviting me to join Club "Café de la Régence"

I am a recent addition to Team Finland & Int. Friends. I have been playing chess off and on since the early 70's (errr ... the 1970s, that is ...) I would love to get more OTB experience, but I find it difficult to block out entire weekends for the standard American weekend Swiss tournament.

I am an executive in a small, high-tech company in Dallas, TX. I play ice hockey as well as chess ... or as poorly as chess, if you will forgive the pun. And, yes, I believe that the Dallas Stars can come back and beat the Colorado Avalanche to advance to the next round of the Stanley Cup play-offs!

* Dallas Stars for ever! *

Hello everyone
I'm Annette. I'm a member of the Red, White and Blue team. I like to play a lot of goofy experimental openings just to "see what happens". Temperamentally unsuited to play main line chess. I've been out of the game for about 8-10 years so not familiar with the "latest theory." My favorite player of the past is Tartakover who would play anything against anyone. Heck, I admire anyone who leaves the books early! Bent Larsen, Basman, Suttles ......

Back again...
My name is Phil, also team Capt. of "Gator Knights". Formed from the Uni. of Florida, Gainesville. Self taught chess player since age 16. Love to hate the game and curse the day I learned chess. Like the man said, chess is mental torture. I really love the abuse. Open to challenges, bring it.

Un café, si vous plaît...
Hey everyone, its Junnan from Paris.I am 25 years old, student in chemistry.

I started to learn chess in 2003. I like to study the past games of top 10 players of gameknot. Till now, I think I can understand the first 5 moves what they made in their games, and then I copy their starts in my games. Conclusion: I do things, but I don't know why...heehee

I am not a captain of any team, and nobody invited me to come. I was just looking around and I found a "café", then I came in...

Alors, Madame/Monsieur, un café si vous plaît, merci...

un express, un !
Hi everybody,

My name is greg, I live near Lyon, France.
I'm captain of the team "les 3 mousquetaires" although we are not active anymore.
I have also been captain of the GK team, without much success, in 2 matches against IECC and CXV. I don't have much time to organize another match right now but may be in the future...

learned chess when I was 7 and rediscovered it almost 5 years ago when I joined GK. I love this place, great to play chess and meet interesting people. Thanks Ilkka for having recreated this café, the idea was too good to be lost.

What else... I love mountains, hiking, climbing, telemarking: Great outddor activities to refresh the mind.

hope we'll have some good games,

greg

club resurrection!
Well, I'm not a club captain, and I wasn't invited to join (re-join?, since I was an early member of the previous cafe), but I'm very happy that the club is reborn!
I'm a recently retired professor of American literature who loves (besides chess, of course) his fabulous family, golf, hiking and backpacking, reading and music, and good food and wine. Thanks so much Ilkka for getting this going again!
