Oh, I get it. You're basically trying to take unprovoked shots at me. How small of you.

It's not "pedantic semantics" or "obsessive compulsion" to get the definitions straight in a disagreement. Please take a less childish approach.

Thanks.

I apologise profusely for offending your sensibilities. I thought with your obviously high intelligence and wit, you would at least have a sense of humour. Once again I apologise, you obviously haven't.

Eh on second thought, I won't bother.

Regardless of what I say, you'll still be deluded into believing you're at all funny, when all you're doing is showing how petty you are about being unable to hold your own argument against disagreement.

Thumbs up to you and your insecurities, I guess.

Come off it chess, stop being so boring with your endless waffle, have a day off now and then.

Petty? I think someone already said this in regard to something somewhere: Pot, kettle.
Deluded? Aren't we all.

Hold my own against disagreement? Which particular disagreement are you raving about? I don't think I actually had any if you are referring to the 'creation' thread. What I said was simple and to the point, it hasn't been disproved either by fact or discussion. I think all you
did was say all the same things yourself until you got tangled up with mrvroom.

I don't have any insecurities in regard to debate/discussion or argument on any subject I post on. If I don't know the subject I don't post anyway, unlike some, very simple really.

I will not get into any pissing contest with anyone simply to prove a greater vocabulary (or intelligence), so this rubbish ends here.

Same old nonsense about the same old nothing. You seem to have something to prove against me, but you don't seem entirely sure what that something is. I have no interest in any "pissing contest" either, but if you keep going after me with your petty attacks (no pot calling the kettle black here, of course -- you're the one taking lame shots at me, not really the other way around) I'll continue to reply and inform you where you're wrong.

But of course, you don't have any insecurities about a failed argument that's led you to resort to this diatribe in an unrelated thread. I believe you. :]

.....
Here we go again: What failed argument? Are you really that dense you have to attempt to rubbish anyone who posts anything. I have nothing to prove against you. I am a little tired of the constant rubbish you post if anyone even dares to disagree with. Much of what you post is not debate or discussion, merely attempts at 'putting down' of others. Who feels a need to do what? There is no need for such intellectual buffoonery. No doubt this will go on and on until you finally must have the last word (something you seem to crave in just about all threads you post in), so be it, continue.

I've found there's a tendency that those accusing others of trying to get the last word are usually frustrated because they themselves aren't getting a chance at it. I'm not all that interested in the "last word", really. I simply reply when addressed. It's nothing all that insidious.

I can only presume that your suddenly coming after me stems from your failed argument in the "Creation" thread. When you strayed from the point and I brought us back to the original question that we had a disagreement on, you decided that your next few replies towards me had to be a little more personal in nature because you were getting "riled up". To me, a person initiates a personal attack when they see they don't have much left in their argument -- sort of a way to save face. That sort of behavior stems from some insecurity. That's the "failed argument" I'm talking about, and that's the insecurity I'm noticing with you.

I have no interest in putting others down here. And honestly, I'm not putting you down by observing that you're taking unnecessary cheap shots at me. I'm just noting your behavior for what it is -- childish.

You have got to be the funniest guy posting here. I have not taken cheap shots at you. You have so far called me insecure, childish, frustrated etc. I have a 'failed argument'. I wasn't arguing anything, just pointing out something most of the posters in that thread actually went on to agree with, there was no argument from me. You on the other hand went on and on attempting 'oneupmanship' on just about everyone posting in the thread, saying basically the same stuff in a roundabout way.

Keep your personal commentary about how you perceive people to be to yourself, or use the right forum.

well, truth be told you were trying to argue a point, and when what you said was shown to be wrong you tried to deviate from that point. It seems like only when I brought us back to that original point, you started behaving like this. You basically resorted to passive-aggressive cheap shots, crossing over threads to characterize me as "obsessive-compulsive" over "pedantic semantics". That (along with the sarcastic "Aww did I hurt your feelings?" post after I pointed out how unnecessary they were) is just plain childish. So to be perfectly frank, I haven't called you anything. I've simply observed your behavior and pointed it out to you -- you're behaving childishly, and I can only presume it involves your insecurity over a lost argument. It's not like I'm trying to force your hand and make this so, because I don't have anything against you.

If you don't like the observation that you're behaving childishly, then stop behaving childishly. Can't be much simpler than that.

Anyways, sorry to everyone else for that little interruption. ;o

Not sure if I should dare post some of the music I've been listening to, given how many people seem to want to jump at me lately. :]

Anyone listen to Cracker at all? They're one of the first bands I listened to regularly as a kid, and I've started getting into them once again. Might just be a nostalgia thing for me, though.

Now I know you've lost the plot (LOL).

Insecurity over a lost argument? Come again? I was not shown to be wrong at all. I did not deviate from my 'argument', I wasn't arguing! I added a comment in the thread and stated a point, that's all. I did not elaborate, or deviate, or get into any further discussion! Others may have.

"Aww did I hurt your feelings?". Again, come again? Perhaps you are confusing me with someone else?

We have all posted very minor little 'digs' at others in various threads, in fun. You seem to want to take this further by actually running down anyone else's intellect, and I am being childish?

The 'characterization' of you being an obsessive compulsive are your words. It was a simple question made in fun in regard to your insistence in carrying on arguing with posters when in actuality you are often saying the same things they are. A question of 'pedantic semantics' wouldn't you agree?

'Insecure', 'childish', 'frustrated', 'failed argument', These are terms you appear to use regularly! These type of comments are quite common throughout your postings. A trend of yours?

I actually agree with many of your posts on quite a few subjects. I simply cannot abide the constant putting down of others by a reasonably intelligent man whose intellect should be above such childishness. You appear to take great delight in this type of behaviour at every turn, I wonder why?

What has all this to do with Revolver, Sgt. Peper's v. The Doors, Strange Days?

Yes, Revolver and Sgt. Pepper's changed the face of pop music. But, so did The Doors and Strange Days. Strange Days and The Doors brought in the elongated, 7 - 11 minute tracks, not the Beatles. And, in terms of ability to play a lead guitar, drums etc, Krieger, Manzarek and Densmore were far better than Harrison, Ringo and Lennon.

The only thing Lennon did was the lead on Get Back. The only thing Harrison on guitar did was While My Guitar Gently Weeps. And, he did not play it. Eric Calpaton played it.

I'd rather not pollute the thread too much further with this little spat. The bottom line is that I'm not running down your intellect by regularly pointing out that you're showing regular childishness stemming from an apparent insecurity over a failed argument. If I'm regularly using the terms, it's because you're regularly repeating the behavior. Again, not trying to put you down. Just observing what I see and pointing it out to you. I've said my piece and you can either choose to listen or not. I take it that you won't, so I'm fine with that.

What it's come down to is we're simply repeating ourselves in a thread that has little to do with where this is even originating from. Personally, I'd rather go at this in a more appropriate thread (like the one it started in) so as not to bother people who actually want a more topical discussion -- or better yet, not go with this meager back-and-forth at all.
