MAGA 🐂💩
And now there are 10. Ten former members of (I only hire the best) Trump team: charged, convicted, and jailed. I had a friend that once said, “You are what you hang out with.” But this is a bigger problem, and more than what is obvious. What we know is that Trump is a criminal and that the people he surrounds himself with are nothing more than all the wrong people. What does this say about his followers? Why is it that they are so fanatical? Paraphrasing Trump, “I can shoot someone on 5th ave. and not lose a single vote.” It is difficult to believe anything Trump says, but I believe that. BUT WHY? What hold does he have on his base? What hold does he have on his Republican base? What hold does he have on his white Republican base? RACE! He appeals to his people because they - whether they understand it or not - they are racist. What does that have to with the 10th Trump white man to be charged and jailed. NOTHING, but it begs the question: What is wrong with the Trump flock that they turn the other way when it comes to Trumps immoral behavior? I say that they embrace Trumps behavior because in many ways they identify with his open racism. When they look into the mirror they see and agree with Trump’s racist reflection‘s because they align with their own beliefs. Conclusion, racial identity Trumps criminal behavior.

but any performer needs a few hits. he also gets a lot of requests for hate toward various other groups. the biggest thing in him may actually be emptiness. but he does like to be adored. so, who knows where the truth leaves off and giving the fans what they wants picks up.

for example, does he REALLY hate science? Or is it just easy to act as if he does in order to get cheers. the fact that science helps everyone every day in lots of ways doesn't really matter. just don't look at that part, as it interferes with the love affair: WE HATE IT! I HATE IT TOO! WE LOVE YOU! HOORAY US!

< the biggest thing in him may actually be emptiness.>

Horse's suggestion is very interesting, but it obviously doesn't explain the fact that there are not an insignificant number of black Trump supporters. May be they are just the exception that confirms the rule? I think Hog's additional point of emptiness, which I interpret as a full-blown case of narcissism, is an at least equally important factor. In other words, a behaviour that tries to maximise voting support by ANY means. This doesn't contradict Horse's opinion, but merely complements it.

<does he really hate science?> We need to completely discount his so called college degree and consider common attitudes about the sciences and other academic subjects among middle schoolers.

Excellent questions, brother, and well considered.

My hope is that trump will be arrested when he last walks through the White House doors, and that the cops will slap him around enough to make him squawk.
I stand-tall to attend the interrogation if the cobs need some to help or advice --- it's the least I can do for my country.

“but it obviously doesn't explain the fact that there are not an insignificant number of black Trump supporters.”

It’s pretty insignificant...well south of 10%

In January, 7 percent of black Americans viewed Trump with approval. Three-quarters viewed him with strong disapproval. This month, 9 percent approve of Trump and three-quarters view him with strong disapproval.
In January, 83 percent of black Americans told us that they viewed Trump as racist. This month, we asked a slightly different question: Is Trump biased against black people? Eighty-seven percent of respondents said he is.

That's quite convincing statistics. Nevertheless, I think it is interesting that even something near 10% approve him. I mean, how could that possibly be?

I don't think that is a fair assessment. What assets do those 10% blacks think they will achieve under Trump?

Why not? Certainly 10% isn’t an unrealistic estimate for the % of idiots... in fact it’s higher than that

I think that is an unfair assessment. It would be much better to actually study the basis of this fact. Not to relegate all that disagree with you as idiots!

The basic question is, why would anyone support trump? All of our attempts to answer that question have fallen short.

Why any woman would vote for any Republican is another tough one.

there are "answers." whether they are good answers or not is another issue. poor performance by dems seems to be one of the common motives.

From 1968 to 2004, Republican presidential nominees received between 8 and 15 percent of the black vote. Then came Barack Obama. In 2008, John McCain got a mere 4 percent of the African-American vote against the man who would be the first black president. Mitt Romney won about 6 percent in 2012. Attracting black support is even tougher for Trump due to his years of claiming Obama was born in Kenya and thus ineligible to be president, the support Trump has received from white racists, and his proposal to increase the type of stop-and-frisk policing that has angered many black communities. An Oct. 8 Ipsos poll showed Trump’s black support at 3 percent.

Zorro placed the question quite well in another forum.

<<<Trumpism Is a Racket, and Steve Bannon Knew It
In the MAGA movement, you’re either a predator or a mark.>>>

trump's conies --- past and present --- were taught the art of the con by a pro.

I believe that the percentage of black people that support Trump is around 7%. Black folks like David Clarke, Herman Cain and the brain surgeon Have an agenda which is predicated on the almighty dollar. But the question is: What is wrong with the Trump flock that they turn the other way when it comes to trumps immoral behavior? First let’s dispel the notion that people of color in any significance support Trump. When you witness the crowds that go to Trumps rallies it’s a sea of white faces in MAGA hats. These people are not America’s best. They are drug dealers. They are committing crimes. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people. 😃 My position is that they identify with Trumps racism and it give them motivation to come out and with the access to social media we see it for what it is. You know with the killing of Mr. Floyd we got an explosion of unrest and all the fall out that followed mostly for the good. But Some white people/Trump people Just don’t get it. They did not show outrage for the public hanging of George Floyd. No! They showed their outrage when Quaker Oats pull the Aunt Jemima brand off the shelf.

They love him because he is just like them, only with the mask off. So when you criticize him, you criticize them. They are actually protecting themselves. They want what they think he has.

Also they see and hear what they want to see and hear. Reality isn't as important to them as their own opinion.
