![]() of conversation you may have picked the wrong one. If you want to have conversation/debate and come away feeling you have made sense then this may be the right club. |

![]() No matter what the subject it came around to US bashing. It was Bush hating US bashing that got rid of me. I am not saying that everything US is good. We have a lot of problems and made a lot of mistakes. I not saying that everyone should like Bush. I voted for him 1 out of the 2 times he ran. The first time I did not vote for Bush. The second time we had no other different alternative. What I am saying is that if each and every topic comes down to just bashing Bush and the US then it is not a debate it is no different than hate mongering. No place for me!! Even here in the US we have people that blame Bush for everything. Makes no sense!! They were blaming him for Hurricane Katrina. They were calling him a racist because he should have quickly plucked the tens of thousands off the rooftops of New Orleans 10 min. after it happened. A lot of the blaming Bush stuff is ridiculous and therefore in my eyes is not worth discussing. |

![]() I am sorry but I can not be part of a debate that is based solely on nonsense with the sole goal is to enflame. LSF has too many members that use that platform solely to bash the US. Those people will never be allowed here. The US is my country and I am proud to be an American. Does that mean I think everything done by the US has been good? No!! But on the other hand not everything has been bad either. My 20+ years in the military taught me a lot of life's lessons. I saw the "ugly American" in person and I was ashamed of them. I saw bad things and good things done by the American soldier during the Vietnam era. I also saw how other cultures treat their own people which was far worse than the very worse I saw American and other western troops did. The difference was that we discilplined our "bad apples." I learned a great deal during my military moves. I spent most all of my time in the Orient. South East Asia was my "home" for about 5 years. Vietnam was a big mistake of US policy. Seems we have not learned and repeated ourselves in Iraq. I am not saying that solely because we went into Iraq but how we conduct this so called "WAR." It is another Vietnam no matter what I read. Iraq will end the same way Vietnam did. We will "train" the Iraqis just as we had the Vietnamization of the people of Vietnam. After we declare that they are ready to take care of themselves we will abruptly leave. South Vietnam fell shortly thereafter and Iraq will have a civil war and fall into a a Theocracy like Iran. Probably become an ally of Iran and dominate that region. It will be far worse than when Saddam was in power. No matter how brutal he was he had control of that arena. Anyhow, brutality is all most countries in that area are used to and anything else will always be strange. They have come to respect a brutal govt. We made a mistake and we have not learned from our own past history. We are stupid!! I mentioned before that we should send 1 Senator with each military battalion and then and only then will our wars be properly conducted and be of a lot less duration. I will start a thread today about the "POOR". I have witnessed POOR first hand and it taught me a big lesson that it is better to be POOR then DEAD. I learned that lesson first hand. |

![]() with each military battalion and then and only then will our wars be properly conducted and be of a lot less duration." I agree 100%...110 % if that was possible. Make sure all the politicians are out there at the front, would make the voting in our respective govt houses very interesting. |

![]() and then into Iraq it was the govt. [Senators etc] that tried to dictate how the war would be waged rather than allowing the generals to conduct the war. Resulting in long drawn out conflicts causing much more loss of life on both sides. If we send in our troops then we should allow our military to dictate how the conflict is waged not the "arm chair Senators." |
