![]() do you ever really read what is written, or do you just make your assumptions based off your own bias? seeing as i paid for the privilege of staying here for the next year, then I will take advantage when i feel the need........but I will not allow personal attacks in this club.......I run it as I see fit, not as you or markallen think I should run it. |

![]() I may be over stretching when I included you in the 'how to run my club' remark...........but it does apply to the person from down under..............who purposefully attempted to cause a problem and openly admitted it........so thread locked.........so what you think about it has absolutely no bearing at this time.......it was my decision to make and I made it............ shame too, because we actually agreed upon something. |

![]() But have you seen the movie The Day After Tomorrow? It may be a movie but its also a statement. It follows basis of Global warming plunging the world into an Ice age as too much cold water disrupts warm water currents. This isn't Hollywood drama, this is science. The previous Ice Age was caused by this phenomena. |

![]() However, I do not totally agree with your assessment of the movie you mentioned. Hollywood would love for us to accept the fact that they actually got something right, yet they rarely do. They rewrite history and science to benefit and support their wacky ideas. But, you raise a very interesting point: That being that an influx of clod water mixed with the warm tropic waters would cause an 'ice age'. I see no problem with that at all..........if you go back a reread anything I written on this topic I never ever suggested that there is not a change in climate. That is a given.......man's influence at the level that the whack jobs want us to believe however is overstated. We have very little influence on the grand scale.............there is so many other influences that we have actually no control over that is ridiculous to suggest that if drive smaller cars using less gas would change and or revert any climate change on a global scale. The Sun is the #1 influence on our climate, our position to the Sun is the #2 influence. Volcanic activity also being one of the major factors for climate change. Climate change is not new, and has always and will always be a part of reality. That has been my point along and that man is basically along for the ride. I have never advocated irresponsible living and because I do buy into the junk science I am accused of wanting to 'rape' the world. I have made no accusations to those who by into this garbage, yet because I do not ascribe to the same thinking I am automatically condemning the world to doom. Seems a little hysterical if you ask me. I question the motives behind these accusations. Common sense these days seems to be forgotten in favor for the hysterics of Hollywood, and politicians that would exhort their power and control over the masses. |

![]() "somehow the 'addicts' on this site always figure a way to inject into each topic" "man's influence at the level that the whack jobs want us to believe however is overstated." just seems a bit hypocritical to me... as far as, "I question the motives behind these accusations." i have made my motives crystal clear. although I cannot prove man's effect on the global environment, there seems to be enough doubt and circumstantial evidence to at least make it seem possible. i gain no profit from my beliefs. i simply believe in erring on the side of saving something for future generations. one might, on the other hand, question the motives of someone who seems to use, "there is no conclusive proof" to decide that we are absolutely not causing irreparable harm to our planet and to future generations ability to survive on it. |

![]() As for the whack jobs.......anyone who believes some of the wacky theories purported by Hollywood would most definitely qualify for being classed a whack job. And anyone who does not agree with the award winning self promoting jeffheimen is always classified as a hypocrite. I do not believe that we can possibly ever do irreparable damage to our planet, we do not have that much power, yet we could easily wipe out life as we know it, (that is mankind) the earth would continue on as it always has. See jeff, I do not think that I am as important as you think yourself to be. I believe that there are a lot bigger things in this world of ours then myself..........a concept I know you have a difficult time putting your finite brain around. As for destroying life as we know it, this has all been foretold and fortunately we have been given the blueprint. Being a math teacher as you say you are, I would think the blueprint of the future would be something of interest to you. Hate to spoil the end for you, but the good guys win. |
