The Art and Science of Mastering Chess Hi i would really like to know how to make practising and studying Chess more fun. i am stuck at 1500 ELO and want to progress to 2000 ELO Ranking. is the answer in the Openings or EndGame or is it in memorising loads of GM Games like Magnus Carlsen (10,000+)or is it more simple to analyze the Position and react accordingly. please Help by responding thankyou. Thanks Shane, and be ready for some tough love as they say! Most of your thoughts are correct! The answer is openings, middlegames and endgames! Also, the studying of "Master" games and yes, proper analysis of the current position and then playing "the board" (meaning playing the position you see, not the position you hope for). Let me throw it back at you...What is in your library? ( you could sing that to the tune of ...what is in your wallet?) joe
taufiq 14-Nov-13, 07:30	Just like Joe is saying.. Study everything you can get your hands on ! Openings, middlegames, endgames, grandmaster-games, ... Work hard, study some more, take some rest and start all over..
