bbbryan 26-Nov-07, 16:34	Hello I've never been much of a joiner, but hello! I'm bryan, I'm from canada, and I'm developing a love for chess! I love thematic tourneys... I am currently playing in a tournament with the Welling Variation of Alekhine's Defense (defined by gameknot as 1. e4 nf6 2. e5 nd4 3. b3) I've made a few games here to further explore Alekhine's defense. I'm really looking to expand my game by signing up. I'm hoping some of the higher rated players will let me take a swing at them, and then maybe throw some pointers at my crumpled body after delivering the knockout blow. (I'm not actually proposing we play Chessboxing site.wcbo.org   )
schnarre 26-Nov-07, 17:04	Many greetings mate & welcome aboard! I'm not a high-rated player, but I've got more stubborness than probably half of this site's roster (lol). I once employed a variation that sacked the knight at d5: I used to do quite well with it, but shelved it for a time. I still essay it from time to time, but lately I lack the real time to devote to it again. I'm most "infamous" for playing 1. a3 regularly.

mikekelly666 27-Nov-07, 04:11	Welcome to the club Hi Bryan: Welcome to the club   Sure we will let you take a swing at us   Just one swing though   Too bad we where not closer and deliver the actual swings with some chessboxing   Certainly would make the game more interesting. I'm interested in playing the Alekhine defense with you but couldn't join the games you set up. Gameknot has a maximum rating that people can challenge (500 points above their current rating). But if your interested in playing me then I can set up the challenge and you can join it. Have a good day and enjoy your time at the club Mike
bbbryan 29-Nov-07, 14:25	hey mike If you'd like to set up a game where we can play the Alekhine's defence, let me know when it's ready and I'll join. You might want to use high time controls, I tend to move quickly.
