![]() One man who encapsulates the kind of swashbuckling chess this club promotes was David Gedult (1897 1981). Although little is known about him, he is responsible for some fantastic miniatures. See www.chessgames.com - a database which shows an overall record of +27 -0 =0 (100.0%)!! Apparently he became a Blackmar Diemer specialist in his 60's. The Gedult opening (1. f3??, a strong candidate for the worst opening in the game) is attributed to him and you won't find a finer gambiteer. Lets confer the posthumous title of honorary patron of this club to David Gedult! |
