New club member
Hello from Rascal 21mate,
I am new to gameknot and to this club. I am not new to chess. Sadly I am new to computers so if my on-line behavior seems odd remember: newbie! For example I have a copy of a game that Paul played against his uncle. Paul was 12 and played blindfolded. Would be happy to share it. I know of no other way than to transcribe the written record in a message like this. Is that how it is done in our club? Or do interested members send me a message to request a copy and I reply to them personally rather than the group as a whole? I am also a USCF member but have been to very few tournaments. Enough about me; let the games, chat and reviews begin!

Welcome!
Welcome to the club! In order to share games on here, you can do it in several ways: one is to just transcribe the moves in algebraic notation in a post here, and you can even include diagrams if you know how FEN notation works. The second way is to to go here: gameknot.com, then click on "My Annotations", then click on "Create new annotation". Hope that helps.
I used to be a USCF member, unfortunately I let my membership expire in 2006 when I took a break from chess for a little while. I am probably going to renew my membership this summer and hit up some local tournaments or possibly save up for one big tournament like the World Open. Anyways, welcome aboard!

Cheers,

Alex

Greetings all,

Thank you for accepting my application. I have been around the site for around a year now, but mainly still play OTB chess. I don't really coach but my goal is to reach candidate master strength. My USCF link is in my profile so you can monitor my progress. I know the journey is hard and disappointment is common along the way, but so is progress. Some of my notable wins and favorite games I annotate in my profile as well. Feel free to comment as you wish.

I never play too many games at once. Sometimes I am playing none at all. I travel between states often for work and family. And there is always a chess event I may pop in to watch and maybe pop in to support a friend or compete with a friend.

Paul Morphy was a great inspiration to me as I began studying games, and as I continue to study them, I continue to learn amazing lessons. He truly was in a class of his own. I study other chess greats, but the games of Morphy have a special place in my heart.
