My missus says that about men...but i ignore that statement,,it's called selective hearing..and it is safer,,, I have 2 dogs...one a Staffy cross called Triton...some of you may know of him...getting old the poor old thing and then i also have a Jack Russell...she runs the place...bossy thing that is... So what are your pets and there personalities??

Dear Shamash, You really impress me and that is coming from somebody who is rather an elitist (in a good way!!). You seem to be good at many more things than Chess!! I wonder what your IQ is? Accepted by MENSA perhaps? (don't have to tell, if too confidential....!!) What do you think about the following: " Plus on aime une maitresse, plus on est sur le point de la hair " (don't know how to put the "trema" on my keyboard...) or this stupidity by Rousseau " L'homme est ne bon mais la societe le deprave"...(can't you tell I am a Voltairien and an Encyclopedist!!?) I just wonder if you can cite the source of the "maitresse" quote (testing you...!!) (smile!!)..... And, I hope you are not just "Googling" the above because I am not doing that with mine...!!!!!!!

For those of you that know Triton..the team and the fact i called it after my dog...i wish to let you know that he is now blind...and i fear that nature is taking it's course on the old lump... We will need to see what happens over the next few months... i hate loosing a pet...it hurts..ALOT!!!
ubermensch43 28-Oct-11, 22:55	yes... it hurts... more than a lot..!! Bearz, I feel that, man. I have been a dog lover all my life until, on a rainy, cold day, there was that beautiful cat, which kept robbing its head against my foot and followed me from the subway to my house (a five-minute walk). When I was about to enter the house, that creature was still there, still robbing his head against my foot... And... I have never been a cat lover, mind you... I just could not let this being out, in good conscience, and under the circumstances. I took him home. Named him "wildfire"... And surprise... surprise... he has been the cutest and more loving being I have ever met... He is healthy and all.... but when I even think that he will have to die someday, and even perhaps, before me, I tear up, and don't know how I will do when that happens.... Losing a pet is a very serious affair, man..! As serious even perhaps loosing a family member... I am not kidding!!!!

But at least, now you have the good memories, bearz, as long as your brain cells are still healthy and functioning.
bigpeta 11-Nov-11, 15:49	in praise of cats much prefer cats to dogs. currently we have 3. my fav is boris (after spassky) as he sits on my shoulder and helps me play. is this considered outside help?
