![]() Will obviously place our K in a safer place. Furthermore, now his e pawn is in a precarious predicament. |

![]() Hmmm...... |

![]() Re1 Pinning the N (b) Nd5......NxN PxN getting rid of an isolated pawn, opening the e file and attack Nc6 (c) Nd5......0-0 seems that we being coaxed to castle because this will follow NxN......QxN instead of destroying the King's pawn defence Qh5 White will have 3 pieces looking at the f2 square and a bishop between a Rook and the Black Queen. If I am right then we need a better move the 0-0 |

bigpeta 05-Jan-13, 04:52 |
![]() b: NxN is just bad c: 0-0 if now NxN QxN Qh5 then Qd4+ wins the B. In fact after 0-0 whites best move is Qe1 protecting the e-pawn So no we dont need something better than 0-0 |

![]() NxN....QxN I guess the best would be Be4 to prevent the check & expose the Queen to the Rook |

![]() Or if e4 x Nd5 and puts our N on c file under threat we move him to e5 threatening his B. |
![]() 12.......NXN May be our best option at this time, but; Lets consider: 12........Ng4,, this threatens the h Bishop, and if: 13.BXg ...... KXB or if: 13.h3 threatens the N, then; 14....NXB Also our c Night may be able to threaten the c4 Bishop and provide support for our g4 N in the future and cover seven other white squares by moving to e5; |

![]() I've narrowed my possibilities down to 12. ... Nxe4 or 12. ... Nxd5 I like 12. ... Nxe4 because it gives black a small material gain and it leaves whites pieces working against themselves. It also protects against 12. Nf6+. Now for all that it still seems kind of passive. 12. ... Nxd5. I like getting whites Nd5 out of the way but how will white take back? exd4? Bxd5? or Qxd5? If exd5 then as marathongirl said we could reply with Ne5 and still have the initiative. But if Bxd5 then what? Ne5 probably and white has a chance to gain some tempo and strengthen his position and the same thing with Qxd5. So I guess i'll say 12. ... Nxe4 because it seems the safest. @ stealth invader, I just looked at 12. ... Ng4 closer, that is a possibility also I think. |

![]() Qe4 would prevent NxB easily. efc |

![]() Nc5 Qg3!! Nf6 Nxf6+!! so no Nxe4 leads only to trouble |
![]() But, I would still like to see some input or refutation on: 12......Ng4 please I have analyzed this move and can not come to a definite conclusion. Perhaps some of the higher rated players could delve into the possibilities either for or against it, so that we might clarify the result. If it is a worst move than 12........NXN could we have some contradiction, please? |

![]() I have looked at that move and I agree that it does seem a good option. My only reservation is that N's are very dangerous and I like to nip trouble in the bud so to speak. LOL I have worked through different scenarios and still prefer NxNd5. Sorry for not being more specific.....but the possible moves after Ng4 were numerous and I am on a tight schedule this morning. |

![]() 12........Ng4 13.Ne7+....QXN 13.Nf6+.....NXN 13.Nf4.......Nc-e5 to guard the g6 square against the WN. This e5N also guards N at g4 and the f7 square, stops an advance of the e4 pawn, threatens the B at c4 file and can not be threatened by an enemy pawn. 14,BXg7.......KXB or if 14.h3......NgXB (Probably ion will not make all this moves, but what do we think?) |
