Not very good, not very popular!
But this is one of my favorites!! 😺

One step up from really simple, not immediately obvious, only 6 pieces on the board, #3, R, B, N, P, great for instruction, open board confinement, danger of stalemate. Lots to teach with!

Stalemate?
1. Nb3 = ½ ~ or...
1. Rf1...Kd2
2. Nf5 = ½ ~ yes, stalemate.

You might think going for the 1st rank mate is a good idea, but it quickly proves too many moves. Bottom line, just play around with those Stalemate moves, above, and get the sequence correct:

1. Rf1...Kd2
2. Nb3+...Ke3
3. Rf3#
