Why is the solution better than 2. Kc1 h6; 3. h5 hxg5? Both lead to forced mate in 6. Breaker?

Playing Kc1 first leads to immediate stalemate, but playing h5 first does not. Remember, when a pawn first moves, it has the option of moving one or two squares. So, after 2.Kc1, Black can play 2...h5 and the game is drawn.

P.S. So what did you think of Caruana v. Carlsen, drawing to death? Not exactly Fischer/Spassky (for those old enough to remember).

I agree, it's kind of boring. I'd rather watch amateurs who go for the quick knockout. At least there's some entertainment value. I watched Spassky give a simul and a lecture in Mass. way back when. A real gentleman, unlike some GMs I've watched.
