Nice
I'm a bit drunk right now (as most bunnies are at this time of night) - but I did enjoy this puzzle and went for the immediate queen sac and solved it in 4 seconds with no misses. FYI - I will re-new my membership in late August so I can play "you all" in som real games.

Nice to see you're back or still with us. Hadn't seen comments from you for a while. Good puzzle for the easy section, it's just that Q sacs are way to common here so it's often the first option you look at, (Donnaclara rule #1)

This motif of queen sac along h-file followed up by rook moving in is so common in puzzles but I have rarely seen it in my games. Maybe that's a sign of my style but it's a shame I never get to use the tactic

Nice puzzle
I had to look at this for a while, and would still be looking at it if I hadn't remembered the puzzler's rule: when in doubt, sacrifice your Queen. I've going to have to stop doing puzzles as it's affecting my game play. Sacrificing my Queen at the first opportunity is becoming a reflex, which isn't helping my rating

1 star - very easy
I agree with the general consensus here that Queen sacs are way too common in these puzzles, and extremely rare in actual games ... in this case it is instantly obvious that the Queen sac must be the first move (otherwise, black can keep white tied up with nuisance checks for several moves), the rook check is then the only possible second move, etc. .... the most interesting thing about this puzzle is the lesson to be learned by the fact that the rook on g8 is actually a liability for black in this position ... AND, if you remove the black rook from g8, this becomes a MUCH more interesting and challenging no-queen-sac mate-in-7 puzzle!

usefulness
Solving chess puzzles will help your game if you attempt to solve the puzzle in your head with no guesses. In a real game, you would not sac your queen on a guess that it might win. You would take the time to analyze it out before making the move. Of course the exception would be if you were low on time and/or were way behind in material and would lose anyway if you did not take the chance.

Queen sacs
I often have queen sacs in my games. Isn't that what you call it when you stick your queen in front of your king and get pinned?
