Just a couple of things before taking off the queen.
Usually before charging for mating I have to take off all the pawns. This time was different.

The opposite of a Q sac (unless you're black)!
All white pieces are hanging and yet black refuses to take any of them - for slightly longer survival reasons.

not sure the game referenced date is correct but...
www.chessgames.com shows this as a game played in the year 2000.

But the more interesting bit to me is that in the game white (Skripchenko) overlooked the forced mate though wins in a few moves anyway.
