I removed the white bishop from c1

I'm not sure about who these players are, or the occasion at which this was played, but at least here's the game for reference:
1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 f5 4. Bc4 fxe4 5. Nxe5 d5 6. Qh5+ Ke7 7. Qf7+ Kd6 8. Qxd5+ Ke7

Got the first move quickly but it took me 20 or 30 minutes to complete the rest.

Tricky

I like this puzzle in that it is tricky. At the end, you set up the mate net with a move that is not a check. This gives Black a move to try to save himself, but nothing works. The threatened mate is unstoppable.

Time and effort and the solution will show up

The pawn on d5 had to be removed, this accounts for moves 2nd and 3th but for the 4th move the mating position had to be clear out in my mind and finding the move took lots of time and effort.

Once I finally solved it, I remembered how much time it took me the first time it was the daily puzzle 6.5 years ago
