![]() Where 1.Rh6 is a zugzwang sacrifice. In our puzzle, this is the idea "Rb6 axb6" followed by a queen mate on the a-file. That only works if Black's rook is on b8, but we can lure it there by threatening mate on b7 with the queen. So we just need to find a square where the queen attacks the b-pawn and can get to the a-file in one move. Ah-ha! And that pin ont he b-pawn comes in handy as well. |
