Okay, I don't *have* a queen to sacrifice, how about a rook...
1. Rd6++ (White must double-check, because an ordinary discovered check is answered by Qxb3: and double-checking on e5 allows the king to escape via f6 and g7.)

1 ... Kxd6, 2. e5+ Kc6, 3. d5# - Black's moves are forced.

Rook Sacrifice, yes, but
Rook Sacrifice or no Rook Sacrifice, this is an instructive problem, and very much like one to be expected from Laslo Polgar--although it could easily have been composed by one of his daughters. I don't know.

I don't solve most puzzles instantly but this one I did. It is clear white cannot allow black to move Kf6 and only 1 move prevents it.

Correction, only 1 checking move prevents it. And a checking move is needed because barring a senseless sacrifice of pieces, black is poised to burn 2 moves with his queen checking white. Anyway, I didn't need to get that deep into it (perhaps by sheer luck) because the double check was something to look at right away. The 2nd and 3rd moves are natural.

Outstanding Teaching Example! 😃
1. Re5 dbl ch. Leaves f6 for escape, so in hindsight, 1. Rd6 dbl.ch. is worth looking at.
I wish it were that simple.
