Why bxc3?
After Bxc3, wouldn't White be better playing Rxe8? It's true that Black can play Bd4+ before capturing the Rook, but that only leaves Black 3 points up instead of the 4 points in the given solution. Plus the two White pawns are still connected. Or am I missing something?

That would be fine, but it would just be trades - not necessarily a "problem". Poor puzzle, imo.
