Good Puzzle!

Agree! I love these 'queen in the corners' puzzles because there are usually so many different mating variations - just when you think you've found them all, another one pops up

I am beginning to think that the solve rate of puzzles is more suggestive of attention span than it is of complexity. Is it possible most folks fail to solve a chess puzzle because they are too impatient to find a solution? Just a thought.

Wow!

I saw 1.Qa8!! quickly, but I dismissed it at first because I missed 1...Qxc5 2.Qh8#!!

This took me nearly 20 minutes to work out. I loved it!

rex123, After 1.Rxf5 Kc3 escapes mate in 2. There is a way to get may in 5, the hardest part of which is probably:
1. Rxf5+ Kc3 2. Bxa5+ Kc2 3. Rb5 Bg3+ 4. Kxg3 Be2 5. Qb1#
But for puzzles a mate in 2 superior.

The fact that after 1...Bc2, 2. Nf3 would be mate, were it not for the fact the the N is now blocking White's Q, led me to think that the Q must move up the diagonal. The other clue was the fact that if Black captures the R on c5, White's mating move must cover e5. That is accomplished in an attractive manner by having the Q mate on the other long diagonal, on a1 or h8 depending on whether the R was captured by Black's R or by their Q.
