Why is 3. Rf6 better than Rh4?

I also didn't get it ...

... until I had a real good look. Consider this:
3. Rh4 Ne2+
4. Kh2 Ng3 / Kf1 Ng3+ / Kh1 Ng3+ / Kf2 Ng3
5. Kg3 Rc3+ because the knight covers h5
Thus Rxh5+ can't be done yet, so more moves are need after 3. Rh4 than after 3. Rf6

why not
1. ... Nc3
2. Rg7+ Kh8
3. Rh4 Rc1+
4. Kh2 Rh1+
5. Kxh1 Ne2
6. Rxh5#
