Was initially surprised at the, relative, low solve rate, until I played it. Definitely took me a bit to figure it out.

The puzzle is good for the easy section.
Blacks bishop on e6 is overloaded so finding first move is straightforward for any fairly good player.

Description, white is in a terrible hurry?
Why ain't he got long on his clock.Bet they did not have clocks in 1941 ,probably had hour glasses or calendars.

"In a terrible hurry" = "Must deliver mate now"
If White doesn't deliver check with each move, the battery on the f-file is fatal.

amateur
The amateur who got this far into a game against a Horowitz did well. Horowitz had to set up a double rook sac to finish him off.

Notice the Bishop on d3...
...is NOT on the long diagonal, but Horowitz doesn't let that slow him down! This offset Bishop is the BACKBONE of the combo, as all his pieces, even the Queen, rely on its range.
