Alternative solution?
What about 1. Q g1 ..... 2. Q c1#

Am I missing something?

1. Qg1? Is that your final answer...? You can always check these things yourself, it takes some getting used to. I remember being dissatisfied with mates in two only accepting one solution and all the other good moves having artificial-looking defenses. It takes an extra logical step. These things are hard.

If you think there is no end, if you don't think there is nothing

I know the 1. Queen e3 solution.

I just asked if the alternative 1. Queen g1 also works. It looks like it does.

I have no clue what you are talking about.

Is that even English?  ))

If by "you can always check yourself" you mean going online and using a chess machine, I am too lazy for that. If there is an option on this website, feel free to share with me.
