Surely the white Q can effect mate in two moves somehow, one would think? But no; there are too many squares she has to keep guarding on the 7th rank. 1. Qg3 looks like the obvious try, but that is thwarted by (for example) 1...Qf8. Hence Hence that plan has to be carried out by the B rather than the Q.
