Well, to me this puzzle was not that easy -I mean to calculate all possible variations before moving- so I gave it three stars. Thanks, kingdawar.

While I agree that there are several variations to go through, each step is fairly easy to spot. Each white move must be a check and the correct move each time was the most obvious try, at least it seemed that way to me. I did not calculate every variation clear to the end. Instead, I saw that there was only one reasonable first move. After black's response, there was, again only one reasonable followup. etc.

To the previous commentators
Sometimes you see it. Sometimes you don't.

I feel into the latter group this time.

Solution
I solved this puzzle in the same way as schizoidman described above.

I admit that If I had encountered this position in a Real Game, after 1.Qc4+ Kd2 Iwould have played 2.Ra2+, winning the queen for a rook. Then, as it happens , Blacs can't avoid White trading his queen for Black's rook, whereupon White queens the f-pawn unopposed and wins without thinking.

Yes, this adds fifteen or twenty moves to the game. On the other hand, there is surely no greater pleasure in life than winning a game of chess, so why not prolong the process? I didn't win enough to pass up a single glorious moment whenever I could get it.

More wise perspective from our perished friends macheide and phonybenoni.

Q vs R endings a very difficult. Fortunately, there are pawns on the board too that make it easier. It is easy to win the black pawn and then push the white one down the board.

Phonybenoni's suggestion wasn't to win the black pawn. His line was 2. Ra2+ Qxa2 3. Qxa2+ Kc3 4. Qa3+ Kd2 5. Qd6+ Kc2 6. Qxd1+ Kxd1 7. f4, etc.

care to explain 'perished' in your comment above?

Guessing, Kingdawar...
Meant "cherished" but the ol' phone voice-to-text or something similar made it "perished".
Well, macheide is no longer a player and phonybenoni was last online June of 2022... ?? 🤷‍♂️

Did not know that - that is very sad. They contributed a lot. Will be missed.

That's indeed very sad, no wonder they haven't commented lately.
RIP Macheide and Phonybenoni
