Annotate Games - 2 questions
Advice / Thoughts?

1. If i annotate a game, can everyone see it? can the person I'm playing see it? Normally i keep track of notes (when I bother) in my notes section ... but the annotation part looks better.

2. what sorts of things do people register when taking notes between moves?
* thoughts on my opponents move
* logic for my move
* predicted opponents move
* other moves considered (think of at least one other option to comment on if possible) and why I chose the one i did

I find if I do take some notes I play ~100-150pts better than if I don't ... I typically make these notes from moves 10-20 ... ideally I would do the whole game, but I find if I can only partially do it than this portion of the game is key ...

I'm wondering about this , coaching games can everyone see it or just the coach ,

I don't want to many people commenting when we may f gone down a particular route as a teaching tool

If you mark your annotation as "public", it will be placed on your profile page, and will be added to the global list of public annotated games. The default state for the "public" flag is to not be set. The annotated game can still be accessed by anyone, so that you can send a link to other people, but it cannot be easily found, unless you provide a link.

Game Annotations
<<1. If i annotate a game, can everyone see it? can the person I'm playing see it?>>

Not until the game concludes. Annotations made as the game is played are only visible by you.

NOTES, on the other hand, remain private and are ONLY visible by you, whether the game is in progress or not. Once the game is concluded I think the notes also disappear.

Annotate vs Notes
Notes are restricted in length too ... I tried to annotate a game in notes once, but it cut me off after a bit ...

Annotation Restricted
I am trying to annotate the following game but it cut me off after move 14:

game

Any idea what gives? The game continues on to move 41.

Annotaton restricted
Have you tried again ?Are you on a tablet or mobile?
You may think I'm daft 😕 but I've had a similar issue , usually when my internet signal is weak

It does happen everything can go slow in the UK we need more speed,

Just a thought dude

Yes and Yes
I tried it again and I am on a mobile. Guess I should have posted the link to the annotation.

I enjoy annotations. In fact, I met a student, who I've worked with the longest from her annotations. I also met a very young student from his annotations. And, I give advice for improvements. Yes, annotating games is an excellent way to become a better chess player because stronger players comment on it and give advice. It can often lead to direct coaching or mentoring games.

ive begun annotating again (it takes discipline, something which im lacking at the moment, hoping that it'll become more of habit).

anyone want to suggest the best annotated gameknot games for general review?

anyone want to suggest the best annotated games site for classic games not on gameknot (i'd particularilly like to review games from the past world championship)?
