Emergency postponed games
Can GK explain to me how a player can take a vacation for 23 days in December come back on the 8th of Jan make one move on the 9th then 48 hrs later have an emergency postponement for over 5 days ???

I thought when you had a vacation you had to wait a period of time say a week before you could you could have another one ? Especially in Tournaments and Team Games

Has the rule changed ?

Can GK explain

Well, it says:

“If you postpone your games, you will not be able to postpone them again for 14 days after the postponement period is over. If the postponement is for less than 2 weeks, the "waiting" period will be equal to your postponement time. (i.e. if you postpone your games for 5 days, you will not be able to postpone again for 5 days after the postponement period is over, or 10 days total from the postponement date)”

So perhaps this doesn’t affect emergency pps. You’d either have had to have ‘spent’ your emergency pp allowance or run out of vacation days, for the emergency pp to be triggered.

Before now, I thought the same as you.

Corrrection: that should read ‘for the emergency pp to not be triggered.’

Just seems strange were told to make sure we set the vacation flag correctly ,as you can't use them again for 14 days , yet within that period you get an extra 5 days

If you can't use them for 14 days you shouldn't get another 5 days , I must be missing something
Just call me confused !

Well, it’s an emergency pp rather than one you plan, maybe that’s the difference.

Yes and no

We are told to make sure you postpone your games for a long enough period ,
As you can't use them again for a 14 day period ,
But you can - because a soon as your vacation flag runs out in one of your games , you get 5 days emergency postponement !

I'm not saying it was happening to me by misuse but it could of been ,

It would nice if it was clear

Emergency postponement is not a regular postponement, so it is not subject to the same limitations as a regular postponement. Emergency postponement is for emergencies -- when something unexpected or unplanned happened, that prevents you from playing your games. It can happen at any time, even right after your planned vacation, that's why we allow emergency postponements at any time. However, emergency postponements have their own limitations, such as that they cannot be triggered more often than once a year for free memberships, or 4 months for premium subscribers. So it is highly unlikely that someone would purposefully want to waste an emergency postponement so that they can delay a game by 5 days, and then not have the emergency postponement protection for a whole year afterwards.
