Questions on Annotating a Game
Other players are making comments in an ongoing (private) annotation of a game that is in play, the problem I'm having is it seems that some comments are being deleted, when I update(add new moves) or add new remarks in the annotation.

I'm not sure of the dos and don't and how to add additional moves or annotation remarks without deleting the comments others have made.

When I open the annotation editor, I'm noticing that in the move listing, wherever there has been a comment(it could be my annotation remarks) made by others, the move in the listing has a darken highlight around it, I believe it is telling me that a comment has been made, it could be that the darken highlight indicates my annotation remarks. I'm unsure what the darken highlight is indicating?

I think if I go below the darken highlights, and add something the comments by others above stay.
A little explanation would be great.

Ongoing Public Game Annotations
I annotate games and make my notes public, on the assumption no one can see my notes until the game has ended.

This is the case, is it not? No one should be able to see my notes until the game is finished, because I talk about strategies and things that if anyone could see would certainly affect the outcome...

That's a good question, maybe one for kingdawar. Just guessing you said you make them public??, I'm pretty sure everyone can see them, if you find it on the annotated games link main page, not the"My annotated games" link in the upper left corner below the main menu, the everyone can see them. I hold mine private, so they will appear on this"My annotated games" link, which only shows private annotation I've done.

I have found when playing some players above 2000, they don't like to share there strategies with the whole site, and also people of lower ranking will ask questions easier if they know their comments are going to a select audience.

My problem I was having doesn't seem to happen anymore, so I assume it was user error.

Ongoing Public Game Annotation
Thanks for letting me hijack your thread for my own only tangentially related question.

It seemed reasonable to me that the comments would remain hidden until the game finished, and I've checked with other team members who said they could not see my comments on games in progress, though I'm not sure they knew how to see the comments regardless.

I have noticed comments on the chess puzzles that provide good clues on the solution. But if the comments were hid until the puzzle was solved the puzzle wouldn't get nearly as much attention. Or (if this feature was changed) you would have to solve the puzzle first to see the commentary. I think it works fine as it is.

This is just such a great site.

But pasha, as far as the puzzles are concerned, you can't see the comments until you've solved the puzzle (at least I've never been able to), so I'm not sure what you mean?

Puzzle Annotation
Yes, I can read the puzzle comments before solving the puzzle.

I'm intrigued! Do you mean the daily puzzles that appear on the home-page because when I click on either one, the puzzle opens in a new pane but there's no 'Comments' button? The comments button only appears after I've solved the puzzle, so how you can see the button is a bit of a mystery!

?? About Annotation Box
When entering dialogue in the box, it would be great if you could put a carriage return, or line space. Maybe you can and I'm unaware of how to do it. I like to annotate most of my games as I go along, and if my opponent has any game chat he would like to enter in I do it for him, (no sense in both of us having to go to the annotation to enter in comments. Doing it this way also give us the opportunity to make comments using the comments feature. Because currently; I don't know why; you can only make 1 comment for each move,(I guess it is to much trouble to time stamp the comments therefore the reason for only allowing one comment).
