It's on the front page: gameknot.com
|
|
It's a shame it was removed from the footer. Oh well, I'll just have to get used to going back to the home page to log out.

I've only just noticed it's gone in the last day but I'm sure it was there until two days ago. Much more useful than having to re-load the home page & logout from there. I've reported it to tech/customer support but if enough of us complain, perhaps they'll reinstate it? This is the link I used: gameknot.com

Why even log out in the first place?I stay logged in by checking that box that keeps me logged in for a month. And i've been doing it that way for years.I'm using google chrome.I've never once had an issue with virus's or anything else, especially since I scan everyday with AVG.I can even delete cookies or what have you and then reclick on that "keep me logged in for one month"box after loading in a password again,if necessary. This way when I start my computer,I simply click on the GK tab that stays on the top of my page and i'm instantly connected to GK,no logging in.Yes,on other sites like my personal emails or my bank accounts, yes, logging out is necessary(well,my bank automatically logs me out when I leave)but GK is not an issue to me by staying logged in.I think that if it was some kind of security issue, then they would not have that as an option to stay logged in,in the first place.

I don't know if there is a real reason to log out or not, but I certainly do and really liked being able to log out from any page. What motivation would there be for removing it?

sirissac, I agree with you.Even though I do not log out, others may want the ease of logging out from any page.Personally I don't even remember this being the case, since I never really looked.Maybe from not logging out,one day I will get multiple worms and 35 viruses and watch my computer melt to liquid before my eyes, but then,I always was a "risk"taker!Ha ha!

This is the reply I received from Customer Support... "The "log out" link has been removed from the bottom of all pages due to technical reasons. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience. " Pity, I found that button useful but I may follow tactical_abyss's advice & just stay logged in for a month - I don't see it would do any harm.

Hopefully everyone knows that to access GameKnot's front page (and the "log out" link) from absolutely any other page you can simply click on the GameKnot logo in the upper left corner. We regret the inconvenience, but hopefully one extra click it is not too much of an inconvenience...

Well,
I'm lazy by nature, gameknot.com!!!! Never mind, I'll get used to it. Or I'll use Firebug and delete the session cookie (I usually have it openso...). Anyway, thanks for taking the time to reply to us.

I was also looking for the logout link...thanks for that.
