Chess League Scoring System.
Rule 6 on the chess league page states that a win against a player in a higher league will score 0.5 league points, shouldn't it be a larger amount for beating a player in a higher league? also it says that you will lose 5 points for losing against a player in a lower league (which makes sense to me) but win 5 for a victory , it just doesn't make sense to me that beating a player from a lower league should score you more points than beating a player in a higher league?

I think, that ...
.. this scoring system should simply be abolished! its maybe good motivation to get more than one point for a win, but in real this kind of scoring system is nothing else but a tremendous distortion of competition! above all for the player in the higher league it can be quite unfair, because he is being promoted to a higher division with a lost position in a league game, he has much more trouble to stay in the higher division. in real he only lost one game, but viewing the score, he lost more of them. an other point is that a player can be promoted much easier and its not primarily related to the quality of his game but to an unfair scoring system. its because, in comparison to other players, who dont play a current game against an opponent of a higher division.

You are not reading the table correctly. If the winner by the time the game finishes is one or two leagues higher than the loser, the winner gains +0.5 in his current league and the loser loses -0.5 in his current league.

The table and explanation is poorly worded though, maybe it's time for a rewrite
