Gameknot
Is there a chance of making an option for quicker mini tournaments ?

Or a drop box in setup mode for a move once a day would help ,

I enter Tournaments which have a request for faster players , it's hardly ever adhered to , just make them more like GK Tournaments or the Fast Ladder ,

GK is a brilliant site but don't sit still

In the hope of a Gk reply

faster Tourneys
i support your Question

2 Days a Move Mini-Tourneys would be great, without added extra Time

amaclyn, i guess a way around this is to start your own mini tourney (invite only) and invite players you know are fast. i generally play in 3 or 4 of these tourneys, and obviously everyone adheres to the fast moving. a lot of players resign as soon as the game is lost, and if someone without good reason doesnt move fast, they wont get invited to future tourneys. i know you will probably say this isnt a perfect solution, but it works for me!   looking at your picture, i wont mention charlie George, michael thomas or charlie Nicholas...…..

Lol ! Great idea for a Gooner !

And I won't mention Owen , Ray Kennedy and the Ox ( but thanks for Walcot @EFC) , we tried to make sure Thomas couldn't do it again 😉

Mini-tournaments can already be started with as low as 1 day added to the clock after each move. Anything less, and it would be problematic for people residing in different parts of the world, due to the time difference. Please refer to the following FAQ article for more information about the Fischer/incremental time controls used in mini-tournaments: gameknot.com

My advice is start MTs with the quickest time control possible. I'm pretty sure that a 3+1d max 5d Fisher incremental time control, which is the fastest time control option when starting MTs, is actually a faster time control than 2d per move.

Also, having the option to bank up to five days is actually an incentive for faster play, not slower.

Also, I almost spelled fastest as fasted. This is why you always preview.

"Which is why you always preview"

If however you forget the post/preview button are the same , you may never send the message !

This is no fault of GK , but , alas my (getting) old age ! , plus I now have forgotten my stupendous message !

I tend not to agree with this comment, as GK (very successfully) hold 2 day tournaments every month , played by players all over the world who don't seem to find a problem with the time difference?

I like the idea of 2d+1d<5d ,

I like 11 player mini tournaments, I actually don't care how long they take to finish , but I also like everyone to finish roughly within a month or so of each other , but 1 guy having the potential of 7 remaining games and everybody waiting on him is slooooooow in a tournament that started 8 or 9 months ago !
