Trapped in Dead Tourneyis there any way out of a tourney that no-one is joining? It seems unfair to have a level of membership for a given amount of mini-tourneys, and then have one taken up by being ‘in’ a mini that no-one is joining, and no one will join now it see,s. This one was started in April, I withdrew in frustration in May and here we are in August with still 7 places to be filled. These will not be filled and so a player can be trapped in a tourney and also lose of of the tourneys we are entitled to. What do others think? TY |

Good luck in your future tourneys,however! |

MT rule no. 7 says...I took a look at open MT list, I think you are referring to "'Who's Whos mini-tournament CCCXXIV". You already finished all the games and withdrew in May, so the MT should not be still marked as active and counting against the numbers of MT you can partecipate in at the same time, according to that rule. |

But…Thank you for contacting us regarding this matter. The mini-tournament you have referenced has not been officially started yet, as not all player slots have been filled. Please wait until all player slots are filled and it will automatically be marked as completed for you. |

Although...1) you will need to finish all games that have already been started for you (done) and that the MT will still be marked as active until: 1) you finish the remaining gams in progress (still done in May) 2) or for the next 30 days (referring to the withdraw, so... at the end of June you satisfied this condition). I think is just a matter of how has been coded that function, but the way it works and the way it is regulated don't fit IMHO. |

I'm curious... |

Because not all player slots have been filled, the mini-tournament hasn't been officially started yet. I.e. it hasn't been marked as "started". So it cannot be marked as "finished" for any players, including ones that withdrew. There are a lot of technical aspects behind it, but mainly it has to do with the future games for players that join later on -- all other players have to be present in the mini-tournament, so that the games are properly accounted for and recorded accordingly in the mini-tournament table. There is also consideration for potential abuse here. Other than waiting until more players join the mini-tournament, another possible solution is to contact the mini-tournament organizer, explain the situation, and request them to officially cancel the entire mini-tournament. They in turn can request the mini-tournament cancellation by contacting the customer support directly: gameknot.com |

Thank you but…So not sure that path is open to me. H |

Oh dearSince last week! Its this kind of pettiness that impacts on the enjoyment of GK |
||
|
Anyway...In my opinion, GK should clarify the rule no. 7 adding this sentence: In any case, the mini-tournament will still marked as active until all players slots have been filled. |

Also, thank you for your suggestion, it has been forwarded to our dev team for further consideration. |

Another occurrence of this problemI am in an invitation-only tournament for 7 players. There is still 1 space open. All 6 players have finished their games. Until the tournament originator invites a final player, it is an orphan tournament that will always count against the tournament count for the players. It has been almost a year since it was started. I agree with sodiumattack and honeytrap that if I withdraw from the tournament and finish my games, it should drop from my active list, even if the player count has not filled out. |

UpdateI guess it was cancelled. |
