Best players on Gameknot

How do the best players on game knot compare with the best players on other sites. Don't most of the top world ranked chess players play on another site? What difference does it make? If I'm an average player (hoping to become above average ) it probably doesn't make a difference and MY rating would end up roughly the same on any other site with enough players...right?

I don't think that most players especially best ones are playing on different sites, because it is too much time consuming. The ratings between different sites does not correlate well due inconsistency on rating pools.

However you can take OTB ratings to get some idea how they are related with GK ones. I believe that GK rating are around 300 point higher from real-life ones and that is true for most of top players here.

I think that there is a difference between OTB and correspondence chess.For example one of my teammates rated here on Gameknot about 1600,is used to play blitz on another site,and there he is much better than me.In correspondence I can consulte database and GM games,and also I have time to think,in blitz games I become nervous looking at the clock that runs and make many mistakes.
