Gameboard chat question
Sometimes I have lengthy chat with my opponent in the board chat section.Sometimes those words become so long that I delete my previous paragraphs and start new ones. When I delete,it
is less confusing for me and leaves ample room for more chat messages. But when I delete "my side",does that also delete the messages on "his side" that I sent him or does he still have the 5 paragraphs that I wrote to him days ago?

The deletion of the chat history affects both players

Interesting. So,you are telling me that I have the capability of entering another opponents computer and erase the message I sent him that was there in his game board messaging area?

I know that won't work if I delete my own sent message to my opponents regular messaging center. My message will remain on his side,no matter what I do.

Well, not that way, you don't enter opponents' computer. are just stored in the database on GK server, each game has its own chat and both players can affect that common chat. That's all. You can edit just your own messages in game chat but you can erase the whole history.

Thanks sodiumattack.I was just wondering how things worked on this site.I was not sure if I could erase my opponents game chat from me.But I then assume that his "own"chat can be
erased by me "if"I delete everything(all chat) from my side? Not to confuse the issue, but just wondering.

I also thought that erase chat would affect just one side, just like a "not show messages before this moment" command. I discovered it accidentally when I found that chat history empty and I wrote something like "what happened to chat history? Do you see anything" and he just said "I deleted the history but thought it would affect just my side" 😁

Thanks again. That's good and bad to know! Lets say that my opponent writes something nasty to me that I would care to report to GK.But then...he erases it shortly after I read it!All my proof is gone,so reporting it does no good, there's no proof.Actually, that recently happened to me.

I would try anyway to report the fact, it is possible that the chat messages of a game are not really deleted from database but when a player erases the chat history the messages are than flagged as "not visible" in the database in order to not show them in the gameboard (for both players) but not deleted from the database.
