Technical problem
When trying to get computer analysis for a game, I get an error message "Unable to establish connection to the server! Please try again later."

Same when trying to solve a puzzle, leave a comment. Maybe this forum post will work?

It seems a Cloudflare verify-you're-human check gets itself in the way of essential site functionality. It's weird because we're already logged-in and premium members.

Well, cloudflare breaks many sites, so maybe it's not that surprising. At this point, I think cloudflare is doing more harm to the Internet than good. I hope the GameKnot admins will fix this soon, especially if many different functionalities are broken.

"Error: Network error, corrupt data received"
The site is in a very, very sad state.

"Error: Network error, corrupt data received"
Me too!

Can't Blitz, and train with chess stuck on same one puzzle.

Got to say gameknot, well done.

First issue I've experienced in my 13 here.

Re:Cloudflare crap
It is very strange that they require such verification for logged-in users. I have send a message via the contact form to alert the GameKnot admins, mentioning this thread.

Hopefully we will see an answer here , for me these problems mount up adding to my frustrations

The trick is to make a forum post here, which triggers the Cloudflare bot check, after which you're free to use the site for a little while

It took several minutes to make this cloudfare understand that I'm not a robot. It's the robot! Would a bot ever be up-to-date with its subscription payments?
tobiasverhulst

@kingdawar Yes, I noticed the same with making a move: it triggers the CloudFlare nonsense, and then other functionalities are usable for a little while.

@elpafio This is what I don't understand either: if someone is logged in, especially on a paying account, why is a CloudFlare verification still needed at all?

It's not just ...
It's not only when I make a move , just made my first Team match of the day , made to wait while security verification buffers me up and down !!

I was not asked if I was a robot ... obviously they have decided...... I must be

It would be one thing...
if the people in charge of this site sent out a notification that there are issues and that they are being looked into. It's quite another when their silence is deafening. Makes one wonder about how much they are concerned with customer service and their paying subscribers. Not much, apparently.

Apologies
Hey folks, thanks for your patience and understanding.

We are working on the Cloudflare issue, as well as the computer analysis issue. We temporarily needed to increase the Cloudflare security measures, which is why you may be getting a screen asking to verify you are human. This is a temporary measure while we work on things.

I am just waiting to see if the computer analysis is now fixed. Fingers crossed!

If you are getting the Cloudflare 520 error, please try using Firefox as a browser instead of Chrome or Edge. You may also want to update your Chrome and Edge browsers.

@Gameknot.com I'm pretty sure the computer analysis issues is caused by the CloudFlare issue. After making a move or posting in this forum, and thereby triggering a verification, I did not get an error when trying to request a computer analysis. But after some time, supposedly because the verification expired, the error returned (and disappeared again after triggering a new verification).

The computer analysis issue appears to have been resolved. They may have been related (causal), but it was unfortunately necessary for a short period of time. Others reported issues with Blitz as well. We're working hard to make sure Gameknot is back to normal!

Thank you all.

Seems all fixed now
The outcome of this little episode has been that GameKnot seems to load a lot faster than before?! Thanks to whoever fixed it.

Not 100% fixed
Just happened to me again

Accepting a Team message , I was verified to making sure I'm still a robot

Hey all, we have turned up the security again. You will likely be getting pop-ups from Cloudflare asking to verify you are human. This is intentional and, unfortunately, required for the time being.

Our sincere apologies for impacting your time,

Crickey
Crickey that was a supa fast response

I'm thinking maybe it's nice to be verified once in a while so I know I'm still ...er ...relevant

I came to let you all know as soon as I heard we had to turn it back on

Can confirm you *seem* human!

Is there really not any way to do this in a less broken way? Verifying that a logged in account, especially logged in to a paying account, is human for almost every interaction seems to be very strange.

His software is dogshit though. On one of my computers, the 'human verification' page keeps saying "Just a moment..." forever.

Cloudflare...
... kept locking me out, until I sidled around it.
There is too much reliance upon certain types of tech in matters of judgement that no software application can simulate.

But if this keeps up I'll be leaving Gameknot for good, despite just the other day paying my year's membership.

I, originally, thought that this was Microsoft Edge doing this. But, now, I realize that it's GK since others have something about this. And, I'm not upset because they mentioned that this is a security thing. So, that makes me understanding and not, at all, upset.

'Security thing'
Has the 'security' of this site come under some sort of threat? What sort of threat? What has been compromised?

I rather suspect that the real bot is the Cloudflare gig itself.
